Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Oh yeah, speaking of charging, Nintendo just announced a new Switch accessory, in the year 2024, the system's last full year as Nintendo's lead platform. Its a dedicated joy-con charger. Some people are speculating that its future-proofing Switch 1 joy-cons since they work on Switch 2 even if they can't physically connect to it to charge. I dunno, Switch accessories have always been weird bullshit to me, so we'll have to wait and see.
Doubt it, if you consider the timing adjacent to the NES/Famicom World Championship pack it becomes immediately clear -- keeping the NES/Famicom joycons charged and in good condition.

The only existing officially licensed Joycon charger that I am aware of that is compatible with those controllers is this ugly Power A unit:

It's also no longer sold. Short of hacking another charger up to make them fit you would need to top them up occasionally on the console itself.

That's why this accessory exists.

Well, they never stopped selling the NES ones from NSO before this, did they? Because those joycons have existed since either 2018 or 2019.

There's also this:

First time they have acknowledged how annoying these things are to charge.

I get what they were going for, and it only makes sense when you consider the famicom joycons docked vs a real famicom, but it's been a pet peeve of mine for many years.

Did they really make the second Famicom joycon not have Start and Select buttons? I know it’s more authentic to the original, but really?

The writing was already on the wall when the London or the Brazilian edition came out. But I'm genuinely looking forward to the new set of esports scandals.

Please shut the fuck up, please just shut the fuck up, we get it!
Somedays, I wonder if less people would actually cover whatever hot button issue that pops up if they weren't living off the ad revenue?

I don’t know, they’ve all at least been different enough to justify a new release.

Original 2008: First game
Winter 2010: First Winter game, different set of sports
London 2012: Mostly unnecessary, but first one on 3DS
Sochi 2014: First one on Wii U (and first Winter on 3DS), uses Wii U-specific gimmicks (GamePad)
Rio 2016: First Summer on Wii U
Tokyo 2020: First (and only) one on Switch

I guess they could bring it back for 2026 to have a Winter game on Switch 2 alongside Tokyo for Summer via BC? But that’s assuming people care about it anymore, and that stopped about a decade ago.

Fucking finally. The franchise sucked balls. It was like the FIFA of Mario/Sonic, new graphics, same fucking game. The fact Nintendo still had the balls to make it a full priced game was what broke the camel's back.
They should've added more franchises in the sequels like Crash Bandicoot and Rayman.

Sega published it, along with all other versions of the franchise. Which they also developed.

Its the same as Mario and Rabbids, Ubisoft team making an Ubisoft game (with Mario in it.)

Yeah, sorry dude, you're going to need to get it through your tiny, needle-shaped head that Nintendo didn't control the pricing since they didn't publish it.
I was going to correct you, but you’re right… mostly. Nintendo published most of the games in Japan, with Sega publishing everywhere else. The exception is the most recent game, which had Sega as publisher worldwide. I really thought Nintendo published all these.
