Did anyone actually believe there was oil in Afghanistan? At the end of the day those numbers are speculatively inflated and the real money comes from drugs and guns trafficking between east and west. Afghanistan has something like $6 billion worth of oil, American raked in $600 billion from drugs and guns. We’re number one in illicit markets, after all we created the golden triangle.
It's about building and owning the infrastructure that supplies the countries in the area. Which chips into Russias market. And gives the US leverage. The actual gas is offshore.

It was proposed 10 years ago while the US occupied Afghanistan

Daily reminder that Republicans are the party of Bush and Trump supports the same exact policies including pointless forever wars in the Middle East. Meanwhile Kamala Harris as VP, with assistance from President Biden, got our boys out of Afghanistan. Plus Democrats are supported by my two favorite comedians Jon Stewart and Steve Colbert.

This is so gay.

Trump is actually one of the most dovish presidents in recent history. A little too dovish for my taste. He started the Afghan with drawal which Biden ended up botching negotiated with the norks and turned the Dems into the warhawk party on Russia.

Trump literally told Xi to his face that he would bomb Beijing to the ground and also threatened to blow up a Taliban leader’s house. ‘Dovish’? Lol more like Doggish. Cope and Seethe Negroid.

Honestly, I respect the commitment to the bit. Beats screaming like an autistic retard - seriously, I set him to Ignore, come back only to find out he ate a threadban…

Also not gonna lie, I almost forgot about the botched exit from Afghanistan - being in any way attached to that likely isn’t doing Harris any favours in regards to the Veteran vote.

George Lucas is such a refreshing breeze compared to the harsh hurricane that is Queesechake (and he's funny.) If the thread were just HOMO, George Lucas, and Queesechake, I would happily shut up and just observe the dynamic, maybe take notes. It would be a great hour and a half of entertainment.

To keep things on topic, the thread's topic, I can tell you a lot of people probably got the botched withdrawal memoryholed because of how fast things just get buried under new crap life (and politics) throws at you. When I was reminded it was like a punch to the gut, and when the families of deceased soldiers were brought out to the spotlight to help REMIND people, that shit was brutal.

I know far too many people whose brains operate like this. It's sad and frustrating.

What's hilarious, though, is that Jon Stewart recently went on an unironic "freedom isn't free" rant. Sounded just like a Bush League Republican from 2003.

Kerry was a disappointing nominee. I don't think he was anyone's first choice, except perhaps the DC fatcats. There was a lot of enthusiasm behind Dean. He was basically kneecapped by the media because he said "woo hoo" a little too loud. Weirdest incident, obviously the insiders were looking for any excuse to get rid of him.
Dean used to introduce himself as being "from the Democrat wing of the Democrat Party" essentially calling for a return to worker-focused policies and a rejection of Neo-liberalism. The corporatists put a stop to all of that, and now he's a lobbyist.

Keep it up and I'll make sure you get the high grade petrol.
