Check out the "big tech mega layoffs" thread. MS is failing. Sony is crashing out of the crashing industry, Intel is on its arse, Clownstrike is being sued to oblivion, the gaming industry is speed running its own demise.

The US installed Maduro? Ummm…

He was handpicked by Chavez. And generally yes, when you kick out the owners of something and say “Fuck you it’s mine now” people get pissed.

Also another reason they ended up fucked economically specifically was I believe a hurricane seriously damaged the one processing plant that could handle the sludge they were pumping out (somewhere in the US along the gulf). So then they had to find someone who could process it, but any other plant wasn’t in this hemisphere, so that fucked them over in cost as well.

I figured it's not so much wanting the oil as wanting to make sure somebody else doesn't have it in the back pocket, but yeah Venezuala has been a thing for a long time, even back when the USA was pumping oil internally plenty, here's a short from the mid 50s on the subject with additional commentary by several leading societal pundits

When the US government runs you out of your bughive apartment and then you fall out a window a continent away... or when you get in a little lover's quarrel with Joe then your private plane with you in it just happens to fall out of the sky a month later... then you can not talk

Just as I'm about to post Vance correctly calling the weird thing something gay done by 24 year old interns, we get a post here trying to say he's weird. That whole interview should be shown to anyone wondering about him, he drops swears casually but not out of place, talks about how is son won't shut the hell up when Trump is on the phone, mentions how he tries to keep within campaign finance laws because they're weird, he feels completely natural and like a 40 year old dad would sound.

You must not work in tech if you think the Dotcom crash isn't talked about. That shit has been in everyone's minds for the last half-decade. There were a whole string of tech startups better described as scams targeting venture capitalists going bankrupt in the late 2010's and all the old heads started muttering "oh fuck it's another Pets.com".
The mass layoffs at the big names and RTO has definitely furthered fears that we're headed for another Dotcom crash. Maybe call this one the Big Tech crash.

I don't work in tech, I've lost my virginity and don't need carting around on a rascal.

Seriously though, normies and NPCs don't know what the dotcom bubble was. Hell, 90% of the internet weren't born when the WWW started so maybe it shouldn't be suprising.
