Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

it's good for math and the hard sciences because you cannot bullshit your way in math or a field of science like physics
No, let this stupid meme die already. Its math articles are terribly written and basically useless for anything except looking up a definition (where the Encyclopedia of Mathematics blows it out of the fucking water).

Can't argue with you there.

Though if you are going to use Wikipedia for anything, use their sources and also check the sources of their sources (because often times the sources used on Wikipedia is a 'Who watches the Watchmen' kind of situation).

This doesn’t make any sense to me, considering that while English isn’t the official language, it is the only culturally and socially enforced language of the United States (and really, should be the US’s official language). You could even make an argument for Spanish, since despite the prevailing opinion being, “Speak English like a normal person,” Spanish is the most common second language and the 2nd most common first language in America. Everything else is just libshit pandering.
There's a good argument for German, too, at least from the outset of the country existing, since that was a very common language of Americans at the time.

I can sorta understand Spanish given that it’s by far the most common US language after English, but the Native American ones are kinda baffling. You might as well hunt down the name of the country in every Native American language and make the list as long as the Iliad.
You do see Navajo on government documents and websites sometimes (it's the one with all the vowels and accent marks) because it has a few hundred thousand speakers. Ironically, it's not an official language in any state.
Wikipedia should never be trusted at least when it comes to things such as social issues and history (it's good for math and the hard sciences because you cannot bullshit your way in math or a field of science like physics).

There's a very good reason why your high school teachers and your college professors tell you to don't cite Wikipedia unless you want an 'F-' because anyone with half a brain can edit stuff there. Just look at their article for Gamergate, it only tells half the story and they don't want to acknowledge the shenanigans that Left did during the Gamergate drama.

If you want to use Wikipedia to cite stuff related to science and math then sure go ahead, it's silly to insert your partisan politics into abstract concepts and the hard sciences. But if someone uses Wikipedia to cite stuff in relations to things like social issues or law or history, do laugh at those people that do this because it's a good way to show that someone is a midwit when they cite Wikipedia in relations to those things.
The history articles vary wildly in quality. The worst ones are going to be anything linked to more recent history, like you'll have a hagiography of FDR but Richard Nixon is still demonized (even if his article is far more fair than Trump's article). The real partisan bullshit usually comes out with "politically approved nationalism" like Jewish or Ukrainian nationalists getting free reign to add nonsense. Or sometimes on more obscure subjects where no one bothers to fix the errors like the example I found a year back where Chechen nationalists edited to claim based on a book by a CIA-funded Chechen nationalist how medieval Chechens killed 6 million Mongol invaders before being defeated and then Chechen princes led the armies of their new overlords in conquering China and nonsensical shit (each with about 10 citations to PROVE it was true!). Other than that, you're more likely to find history articles that are just incomplete, ignore recent research, etc. but are still decent in introducing the topic and can point you to a good book or journal article.

The law articles tend to be very barebones--usually just a description of where the legal doctrine came from and its application in the US and UK/Canada, and maybe citing a notable court case or two. Sometimes there's a lot of recentism bias according to what leftists think or citations to irrelevant leftist law professors whining in the Washington Post or whatever.

Social issues are absolute garbage. While Wikipedia does alter its own records to hide individual edits, the jannies still haven't removed enough from their article history so you can still see how the narrative has shifted in the past 15-20 years on topics like troons and their "medicine" or racial issues.

It's why I think anyone that uses Wikipedia for general research (especially for social issues or the soft sciences) are midwits.

Anyone can edit shit and claim that is true because 'muh-soruce' and often the sources Wikipedia uses are from the Cathedral (academia being backed by the state to push certain narratives).

You get to a "Who watches the Watchmen" situation because the Cathedral is a very useful tool to manipulate the public at large (I call it the Cathedral because it's just like how European monarchies and the Church would control the flow of information to solidify their power over the masses in medieval times).

Wikipedos are now hard at work to help out Kamala Harris slay her way to the presidency by hiding the fact that her presumed VP pick has such a bad case of double nationality he literally served in the IDF.

Hm. I'm pretty agnostic on Israel and dual citizenship, but I would support an amendment that the prez and VP should NOT have dual citizenship. (Maybe even congressmen.)

Seems like that should be the case for every country really.

Prettt strange since every other politician who was in the military has it mentioned, including their branch of service, length of service, and rank.

Ackshually, you don't have to be an israeli citizen to be an IDF Volunteer.

Not even a jew.

The IDF Volunteer corps is basically a PR program to get people around the world indoctrinated to better know / understand Israel and its predicament. They do give you actual military training though.

Mahal: Mahal is an enlistment track dating back to the 1948 War of Independence specifically designed for foreign volunteers wishing to serve in the IDF and full combat and support roles. To apply email: mahal@mod.gov.il For more information: http://www.mahal-idf-volunteers.org/index.html

Marva: Marva is an army simulation program run by the IDF and the Jewish Agency for Israel to give you a taste of what army life is like. After eight weeks in this immersive army program, serving alongside fellow Jewish youth from countries around the world, you’ll know more about the inner workings of the IDF than you ever dreamed, and you’ll have experienced it firsthand.

Sar-El: Sar-El is a three-week volunteer program that enables participants to volunteer and live with Israelis and volunteers from all over the world on army bases in Israel. Volunteers will work alongside or under the direction of Israeli soldiers, and perform duties such as packing food rations or medical kits, cleaning tanks, painting helmets, radio repairs, gas mask refurbishment, changing spare parts, gardening, or cleaning.

Do you get citizenship for being a mahal?

No.

They are also quite discreet because they're well aware being a part of the program can put people at risk, so disclosure is at the discretion of the participant.

But they give you proof of service and of military prowess that might help you get work in security/military related jobs.

Thank you for the information. If he is not a a dual citizen then (just volunteered in the Israel equivalent of the French Foreign Legion) than that removes at least one big objection.

Heck Teddy R. fought in foreign wars and got to be president.

Here's blatant illiteracy on Wikipedia.
Screenshot 2024-08-07 234744.png
First it uses a plus sign to mean "and" when even an ampersand wouldn't be appropriate. Then, it capitalizes "psychopathy" when it is not a proper noun and therefore should not be capitalized. Finally, it uses "it's," which means "it is," to mean "its," which is the possessive version of that pronoun.

It also capitalizes "Fearless Dominance," which is not capitalized in the sources the article cites, clearly identifying whatever wikipedo did this as completely autistic, a randomly capitalizing retard.

This is from the redirect you get if you look for "sociopathy" on wikipedo (which I do not capitalize specifically out of disrespect and contempt for the platform).

This is the kind of shit I used to correct (4free) just because it annoyed me. Now, I want this site to look as shitty, illiterate, and unworthy of taking seriously as it is.
This is the first and only picture you see of Colleen Hoover on her page. Mind you, this in an author who has sold over 20 million books and is considered the best-selling novelist in the United States. I know they're anal about copyright, but seriously?
They're notorious for using the shittiest picture they can find of you as revenge for not giving them permission. Maybe she told them no. They're all trannies there, meaning they violently hate women who tell them no.
