Karl Kasarda / InRangeTV / 2gACM / Karl-InRangeTV - satanist cuckold guntuber with cringe haircut and a Kubelwagen hates yt

And then he gets upset when people try to correct him because he thinks they're being pedantic for no reason.
A guntuber getting kicked out of a Satanic temple for whatever reason is funny, and people should just be able to enjoy it without having to go into the weeds and background.

Also whatever his take on Karl, his summary of Hickok45 was spot on.

I love how they just make up what happened whole cloth. I still remember seeing the video about Ian leaving inrange because of how busy he was, and when you realize this guy is traveling all over europe and the US to just document guns it was pretty clear there wasn't any ulterior motive for his departure. Especially because he STILL collabed with Karl and only distanced himself after Karl started attacking their business partners in their joint business venture.

This, his bad takes on things he doesn't know shit about, and his constant blackpilling on politics and everything made me stop watching MATI.
I watch it to laugh at lolcows and retarded shit, dammit.

I've fully gone over to the casino. Sure they have their own issues (streaming 30% of the time they say they're going to, just as an example) but they at least research the shit they're gonna cover. Even if it *is* just reading Kiwi Farms most of the time.

I like Kino Casino, but they get stuff wrong all the time as well. Unless it's a cow like Ralph, Fuentes, or ReviewTechUSA they are often times less than accurate. Their Rekieta coverage comes to mind specifically.

Othias has mentioned karl in a positive light on fudd busters before and karl really does good when he sticks to guns being for all and their importance in a way normies and people on the left can appreciate.
Karl does know what he's talking about, he just needs a strong personality to tard wrangle him. Karl's always been good at the practical uses of historical weapons without getting into the weeds of trying to make everything authentic. He gave the simple and clearest explanation of why for such a prolonged period smoothbore muskets were superior to rifled ones.

Also one thing I'm interested in, is how black powder firearms would have progressed if the invention of the percussion cap had been delayed. Would there have been an evolution of the flintlock or some sort of different type of mechanical ignition system, like a refined wheellock.

I don't watch MATI, can I get the cliffnotes?

I'm not terribly familiar with black powder but the biggest issue I could see is cost and reliability. You're never going to gain any advantage in things like rate of fire or accuracy without percussion caps and later on self contained cartridges. I can imagine that maybe someone gets clever with paper cartridges and early breechloading but without interchangeable parts and line manufacturing it'd all be mostly moot anyways since there isn't a tremendous advantage to a wheellock as opposed to a flintlock.

I imagine they would have figured out a way to get rid of the flint. good flint can only be sourced from France and the UK. US flint does not strike as well.
@Sleazy Car Salesman

In fact there are tremendous disadvantages to a wheel lock. its complicated, its expensive to make, its heavier and larger and its not as durable.

The wheel lock should not be thought of as a alternative to the flintlock or dog lock but as a earlier stop on the evolution of firearms. The wheel lock was initially developed in the middle ages along side the match lock.

Ian has posted in the reddit thread. Karl's faggots have shown up the thread in drag and with as much force as their estrogenated arms can muster.

ian gave a very polite, terse, and reasonable explanation. the exact kind which a person like him should give in this situation.:drink:

I would like to congratulate Josh on misinterpreting the whole gun communities stance on Karl and giving us an absolutely niggered take.
He isn't liked by anyone conservate he actively has burned, banned and scorned every single normal person and his followers are all trannies or chasers.
He isn't conservative and that wasn't why he was kicked out of the church of satan.
There is a reason he has probably the largest guntuber thread on KF and its cause he is a fucking retard that everyone laughs at.
yeah, it is very frustrating how much null gets wrong and refuses to do any research on. and he gets mad whenever anyone points out he got things wrong. i like MATI, but there are times when i have to shake my head at the things null says. null isnt too good at realizing the limits of his own ignorance.

Thank you for the clarification, I was under the impression that the wheel lock was a more reliable and durable mechanism despite its age and that the flintlock took over due to weight, size and cost.

I was unaware of that actually. Would it be possible to use quartz as an alternative to flint since that will spark on a comb as well?

Null is a complete moron when it comes to anything and everything. My favorite "Null is a retard" moment is still the fucking meat and cheese thing. The guy is basically a real life Borat.

Quartz shatters under pressure and you won't get but a handful of shots. Obisdian can spark but will only last a shot or two and is a not reliable sparker. Arkansas Chert/flint is the best US alternative to english or french gun flints.
English/french flint is very consistent and available in huge quantities. it was and is used as ballast among other things. it almost always sparks well. Flint locks are made to use flint. subs just dont produce the same performance.

Another thing: A good gun flint has to be hand knapped. Machine cut flints do not last as long because they dull and have to be recut or replaced. a hand knapped flint is self sharpening to an extent. flints are a wear item though and need to be replaced eventually. A good lock will allow a flint to last 50 shots or so before your flint becomes unreliable and needs to be replaced or sharpened. this number is decreased if your frizzen is too hard or its spring too stiff.

Wheel locks used pyrite not flint. it worked well in wheel locks because the wheel produced enough friction to get it to spark well. the frizzen of a flint lock won't let the pyrite spark reliably enough to be of use. some people have got it to work but its a real trial and error thing and I don't think its worth the time.

This is all news to me, so given your knowledge what do you think would be the most likely or logical next step forward in the technology if percussion caps never come about or are significantly delayed?

IDK, the percussion cap was the obvious next step so i don't think it can be realistically delayed in its invention but if it were i think someone would have come up with something akin to match heads to replace flints. match heads do work on flintlocks but its kinda hard to get it set up right. the 19th century was the peak of firearm innovation so someone would have invented something. that time period is filled with patents that are trying to get around other patents and so on.

a good example of patent wars is the revolver. so many variants that tried to get around colt's design and rollin white's patent on revolver cylinders. they would have found a way.

What would be the answer today, (with modern tooling and materials) to a specification to find a reliable ignition system, that would work in all weather and wasn't reliable on consumable items other than gunpowder.?
