He could have absolutely been paid, but the point is he would have done it anyway because it fits his personality to do so. Consider what we know about him— Dev takes everything the government says at face value and reiterates it like an NPC. Truckers bad, most secure election in history, trans women are real women, etc. He's also a known to lust after trannies. He also on has on numerous occasions attempted to virtue signal that he "was one of the good ones" of gamer gate, when he's not trying to distance himself from it by. Now, picture that Dev has just been contacted by a transgender subject of Gamer Gate politely asking him to promote "her" on YouTube . If he does, he'll be forgiven for hurting "her" feelings during gamer gate and may get some stinkditch.
Dev is already sold and running defense faster than a fly on shit, no money necessary.

Tbf, Short Fat Retard defending trannies mocking Christianity is MUCH less surprising than someone like Razorfist defending it, especially as he's supposedly "pro-christian". Unlike Razor, however, Dev has never shown much care for the religion, so him not caring about it being mocked, and running defense for the whole "oh, it was ACKSHUALLY about that garden of Bacchus picture, not the last supper" bit is kinda par for the course.
