Five Nights At Freddy's

Not to sound like an entitled Mario Kart player, but this thing looks like shit. Looks like Garfield Kart or those weird ripoff kart games on mobile game stores.
The presentation leaves a lot to be desired in the character design and the karts, some of the race tracks do look cool, I might be able to excuse it if the gameplay is at least fun, but it looks like generic slop mario kart clone
And then there are just assets that don't fit at all:

What does this have to do with anything in the series?
Fun fact

It's random shit that is sold by lolbit on fnaf world, but you would be excused for not knowing that
If they wanted to do a FNaF themed racer they could have done something with the Midnight Motorist minigame
If the steam screenshots are to be believed, it will have some stuff from midnight motorists in it.

This entire game can be excused if finally reveals lore of mm and stops with the massive influx of theory videos from that one retarded minigame
So it's being made by(?) Clickteam... in Unreal engine?
Yeah, no wonder the game is gonna look bad if it's the first game that is made by people who are not even actual game developers in an engine they don't even own. They know so little about it they actually asked randos on twitter to do the work for them

I want to give it the benefit of the doubt but holy fuck the UI is so hard to read. I don't get it. Thick, blocky 8 bit description text that is really hard to read, then in the actual racing UI they're using this serifed font that would fit better literally anywhere else.
The funniest part is Clickteam using another game engine. I suppose they really want it to be 3d and a bigger game, but if they wanted to do something small Clickteam would have worked. There's good plugins that emulate the mode-7 effect that made the SNES Mario Kart work, I'm sure a pixel art FNAF racer could have worked (as a small game, ala Fury's Rage)

I'm disappointed. That Lolbit model was pretty appealing, it's sad to see the actual product looks pretty dogshit.

You know, if they had any creative bone in their body, they could have made the tracks all the different inside locations of the restaurants from each game and made it look like a racing section similar to roxy's raceway from Security Breach (basically drive all around the inside of each restaurant). And then have an outside track that looks like the fields in the halloween update to FNAF VR (Curse Of Dreadbear). That way it opens up ideas on how to lay out the tracks, insert easter eggs to view when you pass a certain area of the restaurant(s), and maybe even trigger certain events (e.g. pull a sonic R and open up secret paths inside the restaurants when you collect a certain number of a certain thing)

can someone tell me where the disrespect is in this? The dude wanted to see a interesting game to come out when the dev was a loser, with his massive crime just being ai bullshit.

Most of the complaints of this video are pedantic bullshit too. His complaints about the gameplay are how freddy and foxy play differently than the original game, freddy was changed to have various sound cues based on how far he is from the office, which uhyeah states to be bad because it makes freddy too easy of a threat, which just makes freddy sound more interesting and engaging than fnaf 1.
This dude uhyeah seems like a complete dipshit to be around given the fact he publicly shat on and mocked one fnaf developer for making a game too hard and help astroturf that BanBan game and then act surprised pikachu face when said bad game gets popular because of him.
Videos below are from a dude who's kind of a sperg, but he gives a good rundown over why this guy is a bitch.

Yeah, I found his Dev interview really weird. The Post-shift guy made an overly hard, bad game due to lack of playtesting and no one around to keep him in check, but Umyeah treats this as if it's some sort of moral problem.
The game is a free indie experience which the creator made no profit off of and is not something he is selling as a product, the entire reason why people get mad at games like Post-shift 2 is because they are badly made products usually with false advertising. But none of that is the case when talking about Post-shift 2.
Although I don't hate him, I think Phisnom is the more annoying of the two fan game developers due to his bitchy attitude and caustic public persona.

The second Scott interview streams in an hour and a half, I am going to note anything important so no one else has to hear Dawko's voice.
I had taken the notes but I gave up because it'd take a while to edit and format them well. The interview is definitely worth a try and paints a genuinely optimistic picture for the future of the series, that Into the Pit game adapation surprisingly big or high-effort and I hope we get Scott's second attempt at FNaF World.

I love FNaF World with my cold heart. Its a fun RPG and...something I noticed when looking at Scott's old library, was that he was a huge RPG guy (that and a Metroid fan), so it wasn't surprising he wanted to make something that was closer to his roots.
Too bad it got shat on due to it being both "NOT SCARY" and a kinda bare-bones paid game (also the overworld's "pixel" style was poorly recieved). Thankfully it got a second chance when it went free and had a updated overworld. The Halloween update was also aight.

I think part of that criticism comes with the fact that people were expecting it to be just like The Desolate Hope, which people seem to like alot.

TDH is way too overly-cluttered for me but I can understand their sadness. Coffee did get a guest appearance in the Halloween update so I guess it was just a nice gift.
IMPO, The Desolate Hope is way too cluttered even for my retard-brain to comprehend, that and FNAF World would've benefit from being a more traditional JRPG with proper level up moves and stuff, rather than the 3 skills only, real-time type of gameplay.

I guess this technically doesn't count as "video game-related" but what is the general opinion on the books? I remember reading the first Fazbear Frights (is that the name?) and the trilogy series, and rather enjoyed it. There's an overwhelming amount of FNaF books now. I'd compare it to Goosebumps, but I guess contemporary and more so based on a general concept - being animatronics and robotics.

I agree ngl. FNaF World is surprisingly fun. I think it was delisted, right? Forgive my ignorance, but was there a reason for the delisting? I'm just going to guess it was because of the heavy criticism.

There were issues with the first version of FNaF world, as well as just generally being widely hated at the time, so it was removed from steam, Scott gave a refund and apology to everyone who bought it (IIRC), then a second updated version was released for free. The second one being the version that now has people retroactively changing their opinions.

Honestly I'm not sure about the books, I haven't seen many people really talk about them beyond relevance to theories about the games. But from the few things I've seen, the Silver Eyes trilogy gets shat on for being retarded, whereas the Fazbear Frights stuff is generally liked.

a lot of the short stories have predictable plots but i liked one of them where the protagonist gets really bad swelling that the local clinic doesn't treat and it turns out a bunch of tiny dolls were crawling into his mouth when he slept and living in his body
into the pit was promising at the start but it quickly became retarded
and then act surprised pikachu face
you could just say "act surprised"

Well, yeah. Almost anyone who's spent more than six months working standard retail would, too, god forbid any length at a dollar store/discount dump.

If there is a job that will turn the most humanity loving person into a hateful misanthropic, its retail.

Even war time soldiers will probably return home with a less hateful view on humanity.
