Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Russian gulaghomo video dropped. Here's what Ivan and Sergei are dying on camera for:

Late, but I've been meaning to post this for a while...

Also...
Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the submarine and the enemy's C-400 anti-aircraft missile complex in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Yes, according to confirmed information, yesterday, units of missile troops, in interaction with units of the Military-Marine Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 4 launchers of the Armed forces of Ukraine were significantly damaged.

Also in the port of sevastopol successfully struck the submarine of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation "Rostov-on-Don".

As a result of the hit, the boat sank on the spot.
For reference. Submarine B-237 "Rostov-on-Don" (by NATO Classification - Kilo Class) is one of four submarines of the "Kilo" class, capable of using "Caliber" missiles.
Rostov-on-Don was put into operation on December 26, 2014.

On September 13, 2023 as a result of a Ukrainian missile attack, the ship suffered significant damage.

It was further repaired and tested in the aquatorium of sevastopol harbor. The cost of the submarine is estimated at 300 million dollars.
The destruction of "Rostov-on-Don" once again proves that there is no safe place for the Russian fleet in Ukrainian territorial waters of the Black Sea.

Thanks to Ukrainian soldiers for professional work!
To be continued...

Glory to Ukraine!

The based and trad white ethnostate. Russia played the far right like a fiddle, you both hate and love to see it.
It's the same playbook that worked so incredibly well with the hard left in the Cold War. "We're exactly what you've been asking for. Here, our propaganda proves it!" Few will go to actually check the veracity of what they're told. The most prominent of those that go and stay are often on the lam and have little choice but to go along with the line, or are the truest of believers.

Does this count as biological or chemical?
Yes.

Yes, I hate modern journalistic "standards" as much as you do, but the article itself is pretty good despite the headline. Turns out Ukraine shutting down that pipeline has had some major knock-on effects for Orban.

Russian website, so you'll have to use a translator, but Gazprom has posted its first annual loss since 1999. So much for that thriving export market outside of Europe.

Ukraine admits to conducting special military operations in Africa and the Middle East against Russian assets.

Bradley gets nailed by something explosive in the front, seven guys dismount alive and well.

This war removed all doubt a large percentage of the noncommunist far right can just as easily be programmed to do an instant 180 on their political position(s) so they can continue to run opposite of the communist leftist democrats.

The BBC have an article up about the Ukrainian claims of finishing the job on the Rostov-on-Don. Most interesting thing IMO however:
And Russia's internal security service, the FSB, recently said it foiled a Ukrainian plot to destroy its last remaining aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov. The ship, launched in 1985, has been undergoing repairs since 2018.
I don't remember hearing about that, and I'm kinda conflicted on it.

On the one hand it would be fucking hilarious if the Ukies sank it after all the time and money Russia has spent on it's refit (obligatory reminder this refit has taken longer than it did for the US to build a fucking nuclear powered carrier from scratch). On the other however, as long as it is around the Russians will continue to pour resources they can ill afford into maintaining it for stupid fucking reasons, and that's resources they're not pouring into shit that would actually be useful (not just in Ukraine, but in general).

Is it even dogfighting if its just planes launching smart rockets at each other?
There's a solid argument it's not with these. In a2g oriented squadrons I've heard BFM training has gotten a little lazy since there's not much maneuvering when you can reliably get off a 90 degree off boresight shot, just look and shoot.

Is it really cutting edge if it first entered service in 2003?
As you said "by Russia standards". Russia is using Tanks from the 60s, jets from the 70s, SAMs from the 80s, Attack Helos (until they run out and those will be revert to the 70s too) & missiles from the 90s (until they run out). So 2003 is advanced future tech for Russia.

That's where I'm at as well.

Imagine losing all these ships to a country with no navy. It’s almost as embarrassing as when they lost to Japan

TBF this is the sub that Ukraine fucked up already that was already considered to be effectively a write-off. The only reason it wasn't scrapped was because it had been hit in dry dock so sea water hadn't fucked up everything inside (an oversight Ukraine remedied this time)

Wonking I heard was the RoD was patched up enough to allow it to move and possibly submerge, and its possible it was still capable of launching Kalibr because unlike an Ohio, the Kalibrs it launches are packaged inside torpedo housings that have the same circumference as standard Russian torpedoes, just longer (which is why the Kilos need to hit a dry dock get the capability).
There were a handful of possible scenarios of what Russia would have done before this latest ACKing, from what I think was most likely to least.
1) even though the innards were likely still fucked and systems broken or semi-functional, return to service as a Kalibr launcher.
2) even though Innards were fucked, and it couldn't launch anymore, deploy it anyway as a national pride/don't let them see you bleed thing; its not like the Kilos have a lot to fear at the moment from a country with no navy and no ability to use ASW helos at range.
3) Move it to Novorossiysk to either mothball it till the war is over or try to repair it.
4) Try to move it out of the black sea and get it to St. Petersburg for actual repairs.

Always has been, etc.
