Well, unless a mosque is burnt to the ground, or we hear of Muslim casualties, I can't think of any way it can escalate more than things already have unless the bubble is breached in the capital. The minute an affluent area or a well-off person is in the crosshairs, the hammer comes down.

In regards to ordering a crossbow from Amazon to defend yourself. It's a very bad idea because they will be watching for people buying weapons and you can't use it to defend yourself without getting arrested. The home defense laws in the UK say you can only use what is to hand in self defense. If you're coming home from duck shooting and someone attacks you you can turn your shotgun on them and fire. It was at hand and you were defending yourself. If you go to the kitchen to get your crossbow and shoot it they will do you for premeditated murder if it works.

Weapons you want to defend yourself with need to be things you could reasonably have on hand. Clubs are deadly and easy to find suitable household objects. Objects you can use as shields are also a good idea, even if it's just a wooden table you put a strap on to make it easier to put away which happens to fit your arm.

UK home defense laws are not in your favour. Don't get killed to abide by them but don't let them put you in prison for defending yourself. No one just happens to have a loaded crossbow and a bastard sword in the fridge. But they do have a golfclub by the bed, and a cricket bat by the back door. Catapults are fun things to mess around with, Get some elastic and pick up a new hobby. Great for killing vermin like rabbits if you can aim. If food gets short you can make some rabbit stew!

There are a number of accounts talking about a London March.

If they really want to do one, then go for broke. Take it to the capital of Muzzies in London.
