I could be wrong, hell in early 2020 I looked at COVID and figured it'd be a nothingburger based on how quickly it was mutating for transmissibility and they ended up fucking the world over it.
But I feel like Iran will do their usual shit of launching a bunch of missiles and drones that will all get shot down, Israel will harrumph and lob a few airstrikes at Hezbollah and demand the US send them a few more billions, and it'll blow over.
If Israel had directly struck some Iranian higher up, yeah it'd probably escalate. As it is I'm guessing Iran will try to save face (an "ally" was killed on their soil, they have to react somehow) by attacking in a very telegraphed way that is not going to be enough to broaden the conflict.

By that point, you'll have an evacuation or humanitarian support, so as long as you keep your head down, don't show off anything worth stealing, don't live in a mansion etc, you'll be fine. In a major exchange, you only need to last a few months, again head down, don't draw any attention. Within a couple weeks, most people who aren't prepared are probably dead between loss of water, power, or food shipments to most areas. Within the first two months, the worst of the looters are probably dead from killing each other or being killed by their prospective victims.
