Female runners, on average, weigh much less than male ones. Less load per step means the shoes will last longer as the amount of sole being ran down per mile is not going to be as great. John Flynt might not top three bills any more but he's still got the average body mass of a larger than average American male, much greater than your average female runner using the same women's running shoes.

women-specific shoes might or might not be bullshit, but Wu's anecdotal evidence doesn't really apply. B-dog's skeletal development was male. It's not a valid case study.
The advice just get men's shoes from someone with a male skeleton kinda works against the case.

That's bullshit, as far as I know there isn't anything like a women's running shoe, just different sizes. Of course, if you buy a pair of shoes, that is advertised as a woman's running shoes you'll pay more, because you think it matters that someone slapped "woman" onto the product name.
Besides, even if women need different shoes, because of their somewhat different bone structure compared to men ... Wu is still fucking 6 feet something tall and she still has male bones and muscles, so if she hasn't chopped off her toes, then broke her hips and legs and re-alinged them she will need male shoes anyway.
