A lot of other posters have commented on Walz giving off creeper/pedo vibes and he has a lot of suspect statements and behavior that lends credibility to that. I also don't know how much stake I put in the rumors of the VP selection, but according to those none of the major insiders (Obama, etc.) were even considering this guy, but Kamala picked him because he called Trump weird, which no doubt made her cackle with delight. Assuming that's true, not even the Democrats might have done due diligence on this guy.

I don't know the words to any of her songs, and literally the only one I can name is "Shake it Off." Her music has always been the sonic equivalent to paint drying on a wall, far off in the distance.

Within the past year, my apathy has turned into immense hatred. This bitch is entering middle age, and she still acts like a middle school girl who is mad that she didn't receive a Valentine's Day card at school from her crush. It's juvenile. And her fans are certifiably insane. They are 100% in a cult.

Taylor Swift is at least respectable because, when she started out, she played her own instruments and wrote her own songs. It's not like Beyoncé, who is just a good throat. Hell, even Britney Spears showed how much of a musical talent she is with In the Zone. I think Taylor Swift tapped into sad basic white girl feelings and vaulted from that into the milquetoast pop star that she is today. To her credit, though, Taylor has crafted her image very well - one of the reasons why Katy Perry went to the wayside is that people got to know her too well (another is that she got old, which is frankly a sexist aspect of the music industry, but now this rant is getting too long).

However, I share your confusion. Her music is not that interesting and I never understood how she got so famous.

I feel about the same way, but I wonder if it's mainly because it's music aimed at a younger crowd and not something that I am going to connect with at this point in my life. Although I can admit that some of her songs are catchy or understand why people might latch on to them, I don't think anything that I've heard from her is really great or will stand the test of time like some of the music from 80's or 90's will. I'd much rather have Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks, Liz Phair, Bonnie Tyler, or any number of other women who produced something that even people two decades from now will still resonate with. Even if you want to look at some artists more contemporary with Swift, someone like Neko Case just blows her completely out of the water.
