Quick question because I'm new to this drama, did people try to paint this as a right wing campaign coming from the evil denizens of here before the evidence became too compromising and started getting reported in mainstream outlets?

I've never heard it associated it with the right wing. The only person who claimed that was Keemstar (who is suuuuper reliable). I've seen normal viewers comment this on youtube videos for over a year. It was just common knowledge under drama channels (which had no political alignments).
