Content Creator Frost and Head of Sales Sisco Araneta Leave Second Wind

This morning we let go of our Head of Sales, Cisco, as we had differing expectations for the job and the future direction of the company. During the meeting where we discussed this with staff, Frost made the decision to resign, which came as a surprise to all of us, and he has made his post declaring how he felt about the situation at large. Frost had a different direction he saw the channel going in, including content viewership goals, revenue strategy, and management. While there were some initiatives that we agreed on and were implementing, ultimately, the vast majority of the team did not agree with Frost’s direction as a whole. Our financials are public so you know where our money is going and how it’s coming in. We try to be transparent with you to hold ourselves accountable in situations like this. Obviously there’s other things Frost mentioned specifically about me (Nick) in his social media post, even some things that I agree with like my social media use. The team did their job to course correct me… frighteningly so which included me potentially being fired if I did not reign myself in as I was spiraling. I have taken that to heart, and over the past month I have worked with the team to demonstrate that I can grow and be a better partner in this co-op. We’ve been making internal changes to open lines of communication to make sure that issues are being addressed. We’ve shifted some responsibilities within the company to make sure that everyone’s voice is being heard. The Second Wind team is not breaking up and things will continue on as we navigate this. I’m truly sorry things didn't work out with Frost, and I personally wish both him and Cisco well in their future endeavors. Windbreakers will continue, and we have other things in the works like The Archive, the Animal Well Documentary, and more. We will continue to be transparent with you and keep you updated on the company as we go. Thank you, - Nick and the Second Wind team

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Nick is a humongous faggot and all but absolving himself of any guilt. I don't even know who those two people were, I think I vaguely recall Frost being a faggy looking mutt that sometimes appeared on podcasts.
They should legit just fucking ditch everything that doesn't involve Yahtzee. No views, no interest, no passion. Rescue Gabe from the clutches of his obese troon roommate and bring him back. Yahtzee could effortlessly set up a personal patreon and go back to WMM editing, the issue is he's a pussy who needs someone in charge to deliver and market the product that he makes. He already has a name and a brand. Fucking get a grip.

More about Nick: Plebbit said he bragged about his trips, house renovations etc. on the podcasts all of the time. It got to the point that the other members were making passive aggressive remarks about "so that's where all the Patreon money is going..." And yeah arguing with people on Twitter all day isn't a good look for your CEO. Apparently Jack said he was going to hold a vote to fire Nick if he didn't stop.

edit: As of today he's still on Reddit arguing with people. You'd think this marketing wunderkid would realize that that's not a great look.

That salary breakdown really highlights how stupid Yahtzee is for subsidising all the useless hangers-on. All he needs is a part time assistant for video editing & publishing, and maybe another for social media & sponsorships (technically he doesn't "need" either but he is obviously lazy). He'd go from making ~18% of the revenue to 80+%. I get that he's unambitious, but you'd think he would want to provide more for his family. There's zero reason to be paying a retard like Nick $100k a year just because he just wants to play video games all day and not deal with the "business stuff".

Well, supposedly these are from the beginning of the company where he took some sort of pay cut to get things up and running. But considering that they’re operating at a loss still I can’t imagine he’s making much more than that.

Hiring ten+ ppl was a big mistake. Should have been like three or four.

I always thought second wind was doomed for failure. Once the hype falls off people would stop donating to the patreon, etc. Even here I got pushback.

Well, look what’s happening. Instead of growing, patreon was stagnating for a while and has now fallen from 60 to 50k. Beginning of the end imo.

I've speculated that Yahtzee's kids aren't actually his, but the usual set-up in that scenario is that the man is the woman's meal ticket. If she's the one with the income, what does he really bring to the table?

I knew Second Wind wouldn't last. There was a reason why Nick was fired from Escapist, why the rest of these dipshits, Yathzee included, thought rounding their wagons around this snake was a good idea is beyond me. They all get what they deserve, Yahtzee especially is a fucking retard since as someone pointed out he could easily hire as single editor and keep the rest of the bag himself, with how much of a household name he is and how minimal the work to make his animations is to make every week. This shows me he is actually friends with Nick, which just about says it all for this washed up old cunt, more so than the drop of quality in his content or the rise of politisperging(like that Hogwarts video).

Imagine making 1/3 of the guy who's the only reason people even go to the fucking site. It's a deadend job for all intent and purpose and the people there still made more money than they are worth.

I feel like Nick is one of those journoscum people and wants to establish second wind as a successor to journo companies like kotaku once they die and the esg money dries up. He certainly has the attitude of a game journo and is propping up second wind as a portfolio highlight for himself instead of a legitimate business. You saw this a lot with the gamergate/sweetbaby people, even with the CA people where they made shit to prop themselves up, not to make a good product in and of itself. Even journos did this where they produced engagement bait slop in an attempt to fail upwards, Jason schrier was probably the only person who was successful at this getting hired at bloomberg. Whereas yahtzee is one of those people who wants to make a good product but is too cynical and lazy at this point in his career to say fuck it, so he's not rocking the boat.

Channel Awesome at least had SOME creative people outside of Doug Walker.

Nobody really gives a fuck about anyone else EXCEPT Yatzee. It's a lamer #ChangeTheChannel because from the sound of it, it's an easily solve-able problem that everyone is purposefully avoiding.

At this point, let them all suffer. Yatzee has become a fucking insufferable bore over the years so honestly, nothing of value would be lost.
