Lets say Biden won a second term. Hunter could have done a "how the first son helped the biden campaign take the white house" with the leftover campaign funds and give away the books. The publishing company cuts a check to Hunter for a million bucks. The publishing company gets a guaranteed new york times best seller and makes their money back. Hunter gets a little extra money for residuals and the interviews and media tour.

Now lets say its not hunter but some staffer you want to reward or inject as a political talking head to direct the message at Fox News or Msnbc who gets invited on for being a "new york times best selling political writer"

I'm assuming he was giving a silly answer. Dore is a self-described socialist, but he doesn't really like the progressives at all. He rags on the squad members and calls them sellouts a lot. He's kind of weird because he thought the Russia collusion story that the Democrats ran with was bullshit from almost day one and became pretty anti-jab after realizing how much bullshit the government was putting out during COVID. He still does have some odd takes such as thinking that Maduro actually won the recent election in Venezuela and that the other candidates are CIA plants, but I can see someone believing that even if I don't.

I think he's worth watching just because he's not some party shill that's just going to push whatever message they want. He's also not the usual smug liberal asshole that acts like all Republicans are evil and if you met him in person and were wearing a MAGA hat he'd probably sit down to talk and have a beer with you.

Jimmy Dore is the guy who spat on Alex Jones several years ago. He has since apologized to him of course and they're on good terms from the looks of it now.

Regardless of whether I agree with him or not, he's had a helluva redemption arc.

At the end of the day, I'm not asking for people to agree with me all of the time. I'm just asking for some integrity and honesty, and it appears that Jimmy Dore has it, so I like to listen to what he has to say a lot of the time.
