There are many language delays that are not autism. He’s been playing appropriately for his age, every milestone we visually see is normal. He makes eye contact, plays with the right toys at the right time, we see no repetitive behaviors or interests, he smiles and looks at his family, his motor skills are normal to above average. He doesn’t have any of the social issues that autism brings.
An evaluation never hurts but I’d be shocked if Atlas had autism.
She rarely shows Atlas with sound-and if she’s trying to prove he plays with friends, she’s not helping her case with speaking: the sound is off in that one with the kids and popsicles.
His delay actually could be caused by a physical problem with jaw and tongue. Maybe that tongue tie snipping actually hurt him. It could also be hearing loss, general neglect (in which case he’ll catch up if she ever lets him out of the house). Or it could be aphasia, in which case early intervention is key.
Come on Robyn, show us that Atlas is speaking. When is he 4, does anybody remember?
Woody has not had any well-baby check either. He looks like a normal happy baby but is certainly unvaccinated. I don’t know what the laws are in Nevada but that would prevent them from going to school in CA.
