reddit General

If redditards actually cared about "fighting back" against changes they don't like, they'd cut it with the retarded and easily reversible/ignorable blackouts and PSAs, and hit the admins where it actually counts: their wallets.

Every sub would have a PSA pinned to the top telling you how to install uBlock Origin (as well as options for mobile adblockers). People would be openly mocked for having avatars full of accessories they paid for, to the point that you could be in the middle of an argument and making valid points but everything you say will be utterly ignored just to get dogpiled for being a paypiggie. Memes mocking those paid awards like reddit gold would be adopted from other sites verbatim. Any brands caught advertising on Reddit would be relentlessly criticized, every minor scandal would be dug up and shared around, every negative review of their products signalboosted—for example if you had an ad for a new burger at mcdonalds, they'd go on r/mildlyinfuriating with an image comparing the picture in the ad to the inedible puck of slop they got served at the actual restaurant, finding ways to make the posts relevant to high-traffic subs so it's sustainable instead of being marked as spam. Then they'd screenshot these posts and send them to the brands' contact pages under the guise of being concerned customers or shareholders or something and making the connection that redditors always rage over ads, to try and get some of the advertisers to get cold feet and back out of reddit.

Of course, this would require them to not be retard cattle that love basing their identities around things they pay for.

Never going to happen. Modern nerds are like modern punks. They love their "fight the powah, fight the man, we are the rebels of society" aesthic but it's just that aesthic. They are some of the biggest pay piggies around. They live to buy anti capitalism stickers and pins from the same capitalist companies they claim to hate. They will deep throat any acceptable message as long as it has a thin coating of rebellious paint on it.

Redditors aren't actually the main consumers of the site. Their active user versus visitor stats are really close to Pinterest, actually. You know how you'll be searching for something and the search suggestion box usually recommends that you append reddit to the query? Well, that's where a lot of their traffic comes from.

Redditors are the content generators and the jannies who perform free labor for a for-profit company.

This is how adbusters described hipsters and the final death of irony when they ran the cover, "Hipster, the dead end of western civ".

Of course it expanded beyond just hipsters and into almost all subculture eventually, including nerd culture.

Compilation of Redditors praising the heavy censorship of the thread. Remember these are the people who LOVE to call other people bootlickers. These people do not believe in free speech. They do not want you to have a voice. They do not believe in a democracy. If they could they would vote to throw people in jail for having the wrong political views.

I firmly believe if tomorrow in some alternate US timeline where freedom of speech wasn't a protected right in America Redditors would 100% rally around pushing for hate speech laws and imprisoning people they disagreed with on the grounds of "silencing bigots" or "stopping hate".

they already do that even with freedom of speech as a protected right

You know why these people need the Reddit moderation and the ability to ruin your life with cancer culture because if society actually function these people would have the faces hounded into the dirt anytime they open their mouths to talk about other human beings.

Reminds me of a Carpenter I knew who beat like five guys bloody at a job site for insulting him back in the 80s and then they got arrested that was pretty normal back in the day if you talked mad trash about someone you got punched in the mouth

Absolutely. The average redditor is who would rat your ass out in a totalitarian regime and see nothing wrong with it. Complete filth. That janny dicksucking is also out of control.

That still happens but you know all these big mouth online faggots are meekness personified IRL and/or don't leave their house in the first place.
