Not entirely sure but I think any changes to your visa status used to require an exit/re-entry unless they were extensions.

Not true for the H1B, a "dual intent" visa. But you can't just let your employment lapse and then do nothing.

Specifically:

Under H1B status, you can apply for a green card based on familial relationships with US citizens. This process can occur while you are in the US in H1B status without impacting the H1B status negatively. You can adopt this method if you have a spouse who is a US citizen, a US citizen parent OR a child over age twenty-one who is a US citizen.

Getting verified on Twitter is super simple these days. Basically just take a photo of some ID.
They made it easier exactly because so many troons like Brianna Wu kept whining that they weren't being recognized for the important people they were.

Someone looked at the laws in regards to non profits paying staff. There was some restriction on someone on the board of directors not being eligible for a salary (I believe) yet Greta is listed on the board and drawing a salary.

If anyone can find it, it might be useful to have the info handy. Another nail in the coffin and all that.

There's earlier stuff about Greta's $2,000 per month stipend but this is the most recent post by TLL themselves about it.

Greta collected a salary of $28,800 that year, and Nina worked without pay for the first fifteen months of Trans Lifeline, living entirely off of her savings. In 2016, they are each collecting a salary of $30,000 (since they work 70 hours per week on average, that is practically minimum wage) for a combined income of $60,000.
