If a man wants to actually be a dad, pass his name on, build a family, and all that stuff. His options are mostly limited to surrogacy. Surrogacy has it's own risks, especially if done in the West, and it can be fairly expensive. However a way around this is to hire a surrogate from a poorer country while using an egg from a donor who meets your specifications. The risk of surrogates suing for custody of the child exists, but is absolutely negligible when compared to 50% like with marriage.
