This really showcases why him and his wife fuck up every meal or project. They don't want to follow instructions and just assume they can estimate what do even thought the result comes out wrong everytime. No dude, it's not that they don't want to follow instructions, it's that the instructions are meaningless when you are literally mentally retarded in the medical sense of the word, and literally lack the ability to visualize and extrapolate abstract concepts into the real world.
Instructions make as much sense to him as they would to a baboon.

Agreed. I must have slipped when I said "documentary". Funnily enough, every other time I mention Joon's videos I call them that or use "documentary" with quotation marks. I think I even called that whole genre "pseudo-documentaries" on the same post.
My favorite examples of that was when he tried to shit on the Cannon brothers for rollback netcode but quite literally everybody told him he was a fucking idiot. Or when he constantly tried to start shit with Justin Wong and got completely ignored like he didn't even exist.

It quite literally isn't possible. Even if you're a complete fucking retard who has a fork and a shitty screwdriver that is the wrong size from like 1977 like me, the second you start stripping a screw you start to think of ways of prevent that instead of thinking the screw is of shitty quality and continue the process. Even if you're completely useless on using tools or anything, at one point you just pull your phone and start looking for ways to do whatever you want to do.
This is what I find fascinating about Phil and why I'm convinced he's actually retarded. He doesn't have any sort of intellectual curiosity whatsoever, no interest in learning how things work, no interest in improving whatever task he has to do at the moment, not a shred of desire for ever figuring something out. It's one thing to be ignorant, forgetful and of slow learning, but Phil legit thinks he knows everything about every given subject and whenever something goes wrong, it's because whoever made it it's stupid. Not everyone reaches such level of stupidity, I mean, at one point Phil truly challenges evolution and simple intelligence that even animals have by never learning. Having absolutely zero curiosity is a sign of mental retardation, and frankly this is the Phil we should see more. It's the closest we'll ever get to a caveman living in modern times and figuring out how things work.
As someone who has worked in programming, the way instructions have to be dumbed down for consumers/customers is remarkable. To basically boil it all down so even the biggest retard can do it is no easy task because as you said, it's years of studies and millions in R&D just to be able to pack a piece of furniture so anyone can put it together. Obviously that doesn't matter when your customer doesn't even read because he's never done anything wrong and he did everything correct.
