Have you ever been intimidated by your coworkers athletically standing in your vicinity? This chonker has
Company is “upgrading” us to sit to stand desks soon
submitted 1 day ago by EnvironmentalLie7965
My office managers just announced that they are replacing all of our desks at work with sit to stand desks and I can’t shake this anxious feeling I have about it. Everyone is so excited except me…
Obviously, I know that I do not have to use the stand feature and could sit at the desk at all times like normal. But I’m just imagining the office full of people athletically standing at times throughout the day, whereas I will be sitting down in my chair the entire time. I know this sounds silly but it just seems like yet another thing that will call attention to my size.
Sorry if this is just the most minor thing, but I hoped I could share it with folks who may understand.
How dare people get the choice to stand during their deskwork!

Is it normal or creepy to ask for all your student's personal contact information when they have a school email? /r/Teachers discusses (archive)
The OP is a privacy conscious chad who knows the school's admins have his or her parent's number on file in case of any emergencies

It starts out normal, with people agreeing that this is really fucking creepy and invasive and there's no English Emergency that requires you being called directly on your personal number vs an email to your school address
1723934106090.png
But then the "umm aktually I need the numbers of all these 17-18 year olds" crowd comes out. The Predditor reveals itself :lossmanjack:

Remember it's totally normal to be isolated from your family and I need to be able to text you.

I need that number for after you graduate for... job opportunities... at the English Factory!

Uhhh, don't be a narc. This is only for statistics!

Those pesky school emails that are almost always just run by Microsoft or Google and other stable providers that do enterprise work for hugeass companies that keep the whole economy afloat just keep crashing so often 🙄

I did pick the worst examples, to be fair, and most people called this inappropriate, but it's crazy that there were that many examples of people defending this just scrolling through "best" and not even having to expand the normal 200 comments. Keep your kids safe, friends.

I like how leftists pretend like going to college makes people vote liberal because they got smarter and not because they literally indoctrinate you with 4 years of leftist propaganda. You can't even go to a shitty community college writing course without being forced to do social justice related work.

Not to PL too much, but my school now requires all students to pick a one-semester course on racial minorities as one of the required English/arts credits. I can understand why they're doing that from their perspective -- they're preparing students for a more diverse and inclusive future, but will we really get that more diverse and inclusive future? Between an imminent climate crisis that will make racial issues irrelevant, or handwringing about Trump bringing about conservative dystopia via Project 2025, I really don't understand how they can think the future will be an anti-racist paradise. Also, well-educated people tend to vote liberal because you have to be open-minded to learn new things and you're interested in changing things for the better, not maintaining a status quo.

Vomiting and diarrhea are not symptoms of that kind of allergy unless she's eating the detergent. She probably does legitimately have an allergy to detergent - it's surprisingly common - but it would manifest as a temporary rash. The rest of her symptoms are psychosomatic. With a heavy emphasis on "psycho".

You know you how hear stories about kids who are so allergic to peanuts that if they so much as smell a peanut they start getting an itchy throat? Same thing. It's not possible to be allergic to the smell of a peanut, but the overwhelming majority think it is. Hypochondria takes care of the rest.
So I had a guy in my team who said he was allergic to citrus fruits, like really bad. I didn't believe him because it sounded like straight up bullshit, and he didn't have any red dog tags for it. Me and a buddy were doing barracks inspections one day, and my friend opened a bottle of squirt (grapefruit soda) in the common area while the private and I were in his room. Within 45 seconds of me hearing the bottle open, he started to cough and sneeze. His eyes got super puffy and and then he was coughing up small amounts of blood. It was the freakist shit I had seen.

I hadn't realized that mocking a social credit score triggered people tankies so much, but I guess I'm not surprised. Surprised at the ratio of karma there, though. I guess some of the redditors can be all right, sometimes.

That sounds like a prank. Bleeding from an allergy is insanely rare, to the point where there's virtually no way he'd have survived childhood if smelling a 2% grapefruit solution was enough to make him start hemorrhaging internally. Also, no blind study has ever found anyone who's actually allergic to a smell. All claims of an allergy that bad are anecdotal.

It's also possible you witnessed the final form of the placebo effect. I've heard that people can get blisters if they think they touched a hot surface even if they didn't, but I always assumed that was bullshit.

I suppose it's possible but as far as I know the guy didn't know my friend had the soda, and my friend was from another troop in the squadron and they didn't know each other. He had specified that the allergy was extreme though. He was a fairly good guy over all. Extreme mommy's boy though.

This person probably would be more conservative if they went into a trade, not because they've ever had a critical thought in their life, but because they're a retard who parrots whatever those around them think

Do you think these people go mad in nature because it allows them to hear the void where their soul should be?
COVID lockdowns proved time after time that not only your average redditor but your average citizen goes crazy if they have to be alone with their thoughts for prolonged amounts of times. I will never get it, i always thought that coping with being alone is a human trait that naturally starts developing around toddler age. The NPC meme is so real it hurts.

Still tickles me pink that this sub exists and that trannies are, indeed, on it.
It was a sub for meth smoking chuds. Redditors tried to create MethWithoutNazism but it was stillborn. IIRC MWC had like 33k users or something, it was quite impressive for a gimmick subreddit. It's quite fascinating, all the other drug subreddits are liberal, except meth was right-wing. Even beloved crack smoking BMJ declared himself "very far right politically". I guess I have to accept that stimulants are drugs for the White Man.
While the White Man thing is true, amphetamines also make everything raw and kill any softness, so no room for some lovey-dovey hippy commie bullshit like in the psychedelic or stoner communities. Speed kills feels.

These people would self immolate if they did a 15 minute daily meditation routine. I love setting aside a bit of time every day to quiet my mind and be with my own thoughts. It’s not as easy as it sounds and some days I can only do a few minutes but I kinda think that’s the point, working at something that’s difficult bit by bit everyday.

Which is antithetical to the redditor mindset, they want, want, want and they want it now, now, now. Without putting work in or giving anything back. This is true for virtually any topic on reddit, be it work, dating or not-touching kids.
athletically standing
Someone call the cops!

You know what, you’re spot on. Even with a couple of hobby subs I follow that take years of skill and practice, the sub is still all about instant self gratification and consumerism. They’re only in it for a quick dopamine fix even if it costs them thousands of dollars a year with nothing to show for it.
