Trainwreck Jill C Noyes Rodrigues / David Rodrigues / Rodrigues Family Ministries / Rodrigues Family Serving Jesus / All Things Truth Printing Ministry - Batshit MLM-shill narc mom of 13 starving children and her jobless "headship". Grifting and drifting across the US in an RV. Wanted by WV CPS.

I think it's worth pointing out that there's a very high likelihood that kids/teens/young adults who grow up in the specific ATI/IBLP/Gothardite brand of IFB are getting sexually assaulted, violated or at least getting boundaries trampled (and spiritual abuse should go without saying) to the extent that it's a foregone conclusion to the higher ups. Could be by a religious leader, a family pastor, a family member, Bill Gothard, a neighbor, the list goes on and on. There's a papertrail to back up this common behavior. ATI/IBLP publishes volumes instructing parents to deal with the "normal" (per their pamphlets) incidents of incest, specifically sibling, Or handling the issue when a child is sexually assaulted by a same gender neighbor while mowing his lawn (god was testing his faith to see if he could get through such a terrible experience and still trust in god and not forsake god or takeup for the devil - not making this up)

Volumes of (seriously grotesque, warped, straight from the mind of a twisted, power-hungry human who wears religion like a costume, not a person who is purely religious) pamphlets addressing these hideous crimes, as if they were just another inconvenient quirk of raising a megafamily cloistered, trained to follow/respect all elders w/o question, and not trained in following instincts or how/when to establish boundaries, show us that these specific people are morally bankrupt from the top, and that various assaults and abuses are common.

So it really doesn't matter if the bible says incest or sexual assault are forbidden. These people (leaders) don't care. They just want to be in charge and tell people what to do based on the biblical interpretation that will ensure their enduring power over these people. I doubt the people at the top have any values or beliefs at all. Just look to Bill Gothard. A lifelong bachelor with zero children advising and mentoring families to marry (young!) and have zillions of children. Not exactly practicing what he preaches. Oh, and he sexually assaults the teens and young women sent to apprentice as secretaries at his center.

So it's likely that some of the rodlettes are going to be touched in their nono places because they're not taught boundaries, they're taught to do everything a man says without question and because they live in isolation. Could be a repair person, could be a family friend, could be anyone, Could be a rando they handed a smiley face tract to. Once it happens, they'll be reminded that what happened was their fault. I don't think pappa rod is a diddler. He just wants to drink hummingbird nectar and stare off into space.

I'm not surprised that incest happens so often in these families. They're breeding their own sample sized demographic groups.

In their isolation from the world and feeling a sense of unity, it does open them up to experience harm right under their noses. One thing the Rods do right, maybe from a lack of money, is they don't funnel their kids off to less supervised camps and groups, or in general seek to have a lot of "uncles" around. Josh Duggar was granted way much access for no clear reason when there was a problem.

It is weird to me how both respective religions (and Christianity and LGBTQ are both complete faiths) cannot see their own flaws, and will deny them as they happen, blame victims, etc. And the most ardent, obnoxious, and frankly, morally questionable practitioners insist no, it is the OTHER groups who perpetuate it. If you deny the possibility of evil in your own backyard, stay away from my kids.

Obviously we need an investigatory agency that sends out a team with a priest, a schoolteacher, an HBS trans, the world's dykiest lesbian separatist and a Mormon elder (19) who is in charge of scaling fences/being bait for the sting.

Are you talking about Baptists? Fundamentalists? Christians? Who?
If you're going to be a deeply committed evangelical apologetic/church Pollyanna, for some reason practicing your ministry in Kiwifarms, working perhaps out of some inadvisably self-righteous idea that you're like Christ bringing salvation directly to the inhabitants of Hell, please be a little less autistic about it.

A perfect post for your username and pfp.

I have a genuine question. I grew up fundie, and while my sect isn’t brimstone and hellfire per se (there is a lot emphasis on it but not as much as say, JWs), my dad sure is. He thought the eclipse was the end.

Is ATI/IBLP/Gothard like this at all or are is it normal in the sense that they talk about all parts of the Bible? I never really thought about how other fundie sects preach and teach the more heavy parts of the Bible (aka, anything with destruction, the end, etc)

He thought the ECLIPSE was the end? The one a few months ago?

What did he think of the pandemic? 2012? The election of the last four US presidents? 9/11? Anything else that happened in the last 20 odd years?

Sorry to derail the thread, I'm just really charmed by the idea that this guy has lived the same current events as the rest of us, and only thought a very predictable cosmic event was the end. It's cute. Like a relic from a simpler time.

Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think they're "normal" in talking about "all parts of the Bible." They're very into evangelizing and saving souls, and very into patriarchal obedience. Those things seem way more important than feeding the hungry or clothing the poor.

I don't think they worry about the end of the world in the literal/rapture sense, but they definitely see themselves as warriors in a kind of culture war.

If you only knew the full extent. I’ll try to be honest without going completely off the rails. I grew up SDA. It’s basically JWs cousin. My dad went from one addiction to another. That addiction was religion.

I grew up like a fundie but add in like, Judaism since Friday to Saturday is the sabbath. I did the no pants, no makeup, no boys, SDA religious education, VBS thing. No tv, no spending money, no going out except to church from Friday to Saturday.

My dad was Catholic and converted before I was born. Everything with my dad
is hellfire and brimstone, but I don’t recall actual church services being like this

Exactly like the JWs in terms of it is the end, only certain people go to heaven, dont save or plan a future, the world is done.

He has every Ellen White book in existence which are…something. Imagine Joseph Smith hit his head and wrote a series of books, claiming to be guided by god.

A lot of people tell you like the JW, it’s a cult. I don’t know if it is, since you used to be disfellowed like the JWs, but that has changed now. It was the policy when I was young.

So it’s really a mix of JWs and Judaism. Eat vegetarian, don’t celebrate holidays (birthdays are ok). Vegetarianism and no holidays are actual SDA teachings, my
dad didn’t make those up.

I have been told I’m going to hell if I am bad since basically toddlerhood. My dad has a pic of my mom being baptized, and there’s a light aberration, and that’s his“evidence” that my mom is demon possessed. I used to process film so I know why it happened.

That’s why I was curious of IBLP and Gothard are like this at all. And I’m really sorry for this post.

ETA: he also said that I was a miracle being born and god must have let me live because I was born at 26 weeks and sick. And then a nicu nurse came in sick and the entire nursery was affected except for me. And that the whole church had to pray for me and that’s why I got better.

Okay. I laughed until my sides hurt at this. I need to know this backstory. Who told Jill she has to be off the internet? It doesn't seem to be Dave, because I am really confident Jill made this profile. It's pretty clear this is Jill, right? Am I autistic and messing up a big social clue? It's cruel if it's apparent and you don't tell me. I digress...

Who made Jill get off the internet? Did she get banned out of some group and know a Nurie profile would be expected? None of it matters, but boy am I curious.

I have a genuine question.
I grew up near where Jill lives in Ohio. My experience with her particular flavor of Christianity is they have a highly inflated sense of superiority. This is tent revival land. The kind of shit people did in the 1830s. They’re flamboyant and condescending. Jill is not unique, she simply broadcasts the lunacy on the internet. They talk in tongues and get “possessed by the Holy Spirit” which looks like they’re having a seizure. There is a focus on the New Testament and Revelations, but not to the point of doomsday preparation and stockpiling.

Edit to @LonesomeDud

My theory about the internet sabbatical is to sweep whatever is happening with Phillip under the rug. Somebody she admires said something to her based on her last post. Jill is completely oblivious to, well, everything. If I’m right, it was somebody important to her. I’d say like the level of her father, but that’s doubtful after the mama stroke posts. I don’t know who Jill would take advice from.

Read the thread instead of just preaching in it. This was posted a few pages back.

Jill is "taking a break from social media", but now Nurie has a one day old Facebook account?
:story:

I'd bet all my nuffins that Jill pushed her into that, because Gob forbid Jilly Bean actually stay off social media. Look, David, Jill isn't really using Facebook - she's just pressing Nurie into service so Jill can get her social media kicks... for Jesus!
