Well yeah there's that too, but I highly doubt mald's the type of person to actually do whiteboard coding because he wouldn't ever want to show how shit he is at coding. Whiteboarding would show he's far more incompetent than he is with words. I mean, have you seen the code to his game? It's absolutely fucked, and if that's the quality he has on his own projects, then just imagine how shit it would be for a companies code he gives two fucks about. If he showed anything similar to his game code on a whiteboard, pretty much everyone would stop the interview and send him on his way.

I actually do believe he said no strictly because he can't code.
Normally I'd agree that his code for someone else would definitely be worse, but given that his own project's quality seems to legitimately be worse than that of non programmers I give easy scripting languages to, I'm not sure thats possible.

Edit: I just remembered that some (not many) of these non programmers have figured out they should use json without help. (case by case thing, not the same for everyone)

Or he just made it the fuck up.
Jason's work history:
2009 - First job at his Dad's company, 6 1/2 years
2016 - First real job at Amazon, 2/3 of a year
2016 - Takes first job offered after DEFCON 24, 1 1/4 years
2017 - Self-Employed "Game Developer", 8 2/3 years and onward

If anyone takes interview advice from him, they get what they deserve.

Seven years of supposed game industry expierences, and yet he could not publish Heartbound in it's completion by his 2018 deadline. Meanwhile, Austin Jorgensen published Lisa: The Painful within a year of successfully crowdfunding his game, with his only previous experience in games being Lisa: The First.

Like you said, if you take Jason's advice to heart, the outcome is what you deserve.

Mr "20 years of experience in the industry" has been developing the 3rd act (Animus) of his game since at least 2017:

On Jan 2019, he said that Animus had been 76% completed.

On Oct 2019. he said that Animus was sitting at 86% completion.

In Feb 2021 he said that Animus was going to be released by the end of the year

On Sep 2021, he said that overall Animus was 92% finished.

A few days later in Sep 2021, he said that Animus was 95% complete.

As you would expect he didn't release Animus in 2021 because of "health stuff"

This cuck didn't even release the full chapter. He released a part of it.

Let's take a similar RPG like Jason's or whatever heart bound is I've never played his schlock game it looks like a table knockoff of a more popular game.
Underrail
it took three years to fully developed and they're now working on the sequel weird.

Lisa is actually on par with an Earthbound/Mother game, which is why I compare it with Heartbound, but this Underrail game sounds interesting!

Original video is private, I wonder why. Edit: lifted from here. Mald doesn't talk about his own game for obvious reasons, still funny though.

The COVID video was also taken down. Very convenient. Here is a local archive:

The video was posted earlier in the thread. Here is the PreserveTube archive though

EDIT:

(Preserve Tube) (Ghost Archive)
Local Archive of the Star Citizen reaction video in case it's privated.

Another clip where Jason talks about Star Citizen.

From what I can tell, this is the channel that hosted the clips. A month ago Mald decided to assimilate the editor, apparently because "his stuff kicks ass", even though all the guy did was take a chunk of his streams with some (potentially) spicy shit, which was probably the real reason behind it:

The link points to a Twitch VOD where Mald talks about hiring the guy (and malds about "people reuploading his shit"). I'm guessing the private'ing part was done because someone finally found the thread (hi, Mald).

Also, if anyone's insane enough to try and archive all his streams, JewTube cuts off the VODs at ~12 hours, so anything longer than that would have to be pulled from Twitch, which means gigantic files (the VOD above lists 720p/1080p only at 60FPS, with files being ~13G/23G), and no subs for anything after the 12 hour mark.

Odd that he writes this in 3rd person as if Pirate Software is a group of developers and it's not just Jason's wild ride of switch cases and endless arrays.
Writing in third person is fairly common for representing a project. It generally looks more professional and reflects correctly if you actually do hire someone.

Given he was working on localization, there probably were multiple people though.

Harmful Opinions? I heard some shit went down with him and family or friends a while back.
