The problem with that fact pattern is it won’t invoke anything that can get before SCOTUS. SCOTUS doesn’t have jurisdiction over state criminal cases unless they need to deal with a question of federal law or the constitution.

Then to get the proposed outcome, you also need to make sure that the holding will bind the states. For example of this, when Loper-Bright overturned Chevron, it did not overturn analogous state court holdings. So state courts can still defer to state administrative agencies.

The only real way I see that as being possible is if you say the constitution requires that state murder laws require that it includes unborn fetuses as people. As I said, I think the best and most likely path would be via the 14th amendments equal protection clause. Something that says that the “privileges and immunities” applies to them, and those privileges include life.
But I also don't see that succeeding, since the amendment clearly says “all persons born or naturalized” (emphasis added) and that would plainly exclude the unborn via the canon of “expression of one thing is the exclude another.”

That could be the argument against illegal immigrates having any protection under the constitution then, wouldn’t it.

The left (and right) have essentially violated our Constitution right into scribbles on toilet paper.

Michelle (or Big Mike) rocking a turquoise could also be interesting, if she wants to really hide her feminine frame, it's about making your shoulders look smaller, so maybe something slimming in the shoulder area with details and accents at the waist or mid-torso to draw the eye away from the wideness. Vertical, never horizontal.
Mikelle's big issue is xe tries to wear frumpy black lady outfits, but that's not xir build.

In all seriousness: Michelle is quite fit and should wear more flattering outfits. She is so obsessed with presenting "black" that she picks horrible clothes all the time.

At a certain level, I think there’s an inherent tension between the generally free-market positions of the GOP and the Social Conservative positions. You can’t tell young people “get married and have more babies” but not do anything to remedy the problems currently preventing them from doing that. Nor does it make sense to say “well the market will fix it in the long term” and leave them with nothing but hope, promises, and rainbow stickers.
You would have seen more acceptance for communism in America if the people who came up with the idea weren't edgelord athiests. The pathos of communism and that of American conservatives share unsettling overlap with their overtures to labor/productive people being taken advantage of by lazy parasites(Capitalists/Homeless druggies) and that society should reward productive work and not laying about collecting rent/gibs

Granted that these two ideologies differ more than they relate as mentioned upthread (Collectivism versus individualism, god versus godlessness and so on) but there ARE similarities

They don’t, at least not under the 14th amendment. The Bill of Rights is a bit trickier, since it depends on what the historical context of “The People” is, but as a shot in the dark I’d imagine it doesn’t include foreign immigrants coming in illegally.

So by this logic, women by nature should only aim for the best men possible, and not date, marry, or have sex with low value men (ie. incels).
Yes that's correct, but also be aware that women not only have to be wary of low value men, but also high status men who are likely to abandon them, e.g. narcissists. Narcissists may be successful, they may have money, they may appear to be kind, they may have influence over their social circle, but if you don't recognize the red flags once they feel like they "have" you (marriage, kids, sometimes just financial dependence) the mask comes off and the risk of abuse or abandonment is high.
Teach your kids the red flags of narcissists. They can be very convincing, but they will not hesitate to knock you up and leave because they only care about themselves by definition. A lot of the women in relationships who got married only for their husband to troon out unknowingly married a narcissist.
In the same vein, men need to be wary of, and know the signs of, a woman with borderline personality disorder as BPD women are the ones likely to do the baby trapping shit due to the core of BPD being fear of abandonment.

Because they cannot afford it . Which part of rent is too damn high you don't get?, childcare is too damn high, everything is expensive. Can you afford kids? Fucking hell can you afford a 2 bedroom crackshack in any major city?
I do not give a fuck what underlies your misanthropic nihilistic dead-endism

On a related note, Andy Beshear shows why nepo baby governor is the ceiling of his capabilities

The problem with the birth rate is cultural, not economic. If it was economic, the poor would have the lowest birth rate instead of the highest.

If someone can get a Big Mike chant going tonight it will harness meme magic into a form not seen in 8 years.

Yesterday KY Governor Andy Beshear said someone in Vance's family should be raped so he can go through what he protests against, and then doubles down on it by acting like Vance is playing the victim. Dumb white liberal who only got where he is on his daddy's name:

Seems like RFK is looking to join forces with Trump, willing to be the, let's say Pedro to Trump's Luffy, or maybe he's Pekoms. I would have no problem giving him some cabinet position in agriculture or even with crypto.

Mary Trump in 2017 vs. August 19, 2024, women, please realize TDS ages you faster than drugs and alcohol.

I think the picture earlier in the thread is possibly just her having a really bad 'not giving a fuck' day. Can you blame her? The whole fucking thing is a sham. I'd be uncaring and lazy too if I were forced to endorse some dumb alcoholic bitch to make "black girl magic" happen.

Maybe it's a form of petty sabotage? Who knows?

Here's an outfit from I think 2021, she looks really good here. What I said about details around the waist applies, it has a slimming effect, and the layer beneath the suit in black draws the eye AWAY from areas you might want to cover or hide, like the shoulders.

Fashion faggotry in the US Politics General thread is okay so long as it's about politicians, right?

To play Devils advocate, it’s not like the GOP writ large has proposed solutions which would engender (in the immediate/short term) that would remedy the issues pointed to either.
That's not even devil's advocate, that's the plain truth. The 90s/00s idealistic version of economics failed the US so badly, it should have triggered a complete rethink from the GOPe before Trump came along. Their failure to do so, and Trump's basic addressing of those problems, is the main factor in his immediate popularity.

I'm not with Trump on everything he does, but I think the kind of pure MAGA ideal actually gets close to what a comprehensive solution would look like. Revitalize manufacturing, stop foreign countries from undercutting US prices, end bad trade deals, stop wages being undercut from the supply side (illegal immigrants), fix infrastructure, get cheap energy for the domestic market, etc. That gets you most of the way there, except maybe housing costs, but nerfing inflation plus doing mass deportations might be the shock needed to get those trending downward.

(The big thing I'd like to see added is action banning corporate or foreign ownership of residential property. A few states have done this so far, and I'm not sure about the Constitutionality of federal legislation on this point. But at least he could be talking about it, and pushing it on each state. That would have bipartisan support, and immediately address the housing availability issues.)

The obvious problem is he can't push all this through on his own, and he doesn't get all of it at the same time. Also, for as much as the Democrats pretend MAGA is a monolith, on economic policies it isn't. A lot of Trump's supporters will pick up on part of his agenda, but still parrot the "free markets are good for everyone" line from the NAFTA days.

Back when the RNC was running a lot of this thread was talking about Trump re-making the GOP into his image, with Vance as the chosen young guy to carry it forward. Maybe it'll stick, maybe it won't. Until it does stick, and until some of his proposals become permanent law (not just Executive Orders that get reversed on day 1 of a new Democratic President), we can't say the GOP has turned the corner on economics.

I'll reiterate my point though--the Democrats aren't trying anything to address these problems, other than baby murder. Even the child tax credit (Vance's or Kamala's copied version) is just a marginal gimmick, a static number that eventually gets overtaken by inflated costs.

So by this logic, women by nature should only aim for the best men possible, and not date, marry, or have sex with low value men (ie. incels). That’s just common sense. You don’t want to reproduce with men that refuse to provide, can’t hold a conversation, and have no real aspirations. Women already do this, but they get called “high maintenance” and “gold diggers” for it by the same men that can’t obtain a higher maintenance woman and have no gold to really dig.
... Yes, of couse. Why wouldn't you push for what's best for you? If it's random assortment of losers and faggots calling you high maintenance or gold digger, fuck em, who cares, they are losers anyway. Now if it's guys you like that are telling you that, it may require some introspection, is it him being pushy, are you stringing him along, is it a bit of both? I don't have all the answer obviously, but as long as the people calling you names are scum, who cares? Let them whine and bitch and cry knowing they will die without touching a woman outside of a whore or a "woman".

Obviously you also need to be aware of your limits and aspirations, if you can never get the attention of high salary chad thundercock, well, you may need to lower your standards, but that doesn't mean you crater them or suddenly have to be pushed into doing things you aren't comfortable with because you "don't put out".

Of course, a lot of what I'm saying is based around "looking for guy to have a family with". If you just want to have fun, fair enough, but you have to be even more careful in that context to a certain degree. Some slight PL, I used to have a buddy that was a textbook Chad, guy was fit, handsome and a smooth talker, would talk at work about his conquests, you can imagine. Thing is, he managed to actually hook up with a woman he was willing to have a relationship with. After a year or so without seeing him, they have already gone their separate ways, he never got into details, but I imagine I have a very good idea why. He would talk about how he was missing the "thrill of the hunt", there is a reason why a guy or gal with a lot of prior partners is a huge red flag. Because the person in question may be more in love with the act of seduction than what comes after that.

Basically, you may be hooking up for fun only to end up a bit too invested with some dude that has "trouble" tattooed on his forehead and that's the last place you want to be in when a relation goes beyond hookups.

I'm not saying you have to be a nun either, I'm just saying that if it were all up to men, it would be like the the gay community, and you very much do not want to have the fucking gay community. Be selective, because you have the power to be selective and don't feel forced to commit just cause some dipshit is calling you a frigid shrew.
Im sorry but you seem to have misread what I wrote or failed to understand the context. I was saying that we as a society should want people to have children when they are young and healthy because it benefits everybody on both a collective and individual level. Imagine not being born with a congenital defect because your parents weren't pushing 40 when they had you. Crazy, right?

A part of me wonders if the whole "I need more money/better situation to start a family!" is a bit of a psyop. I get wanting to have things under control, but it sometimes reaches a point where I have to wonder how kids were brought to the world in much shittier conditions and managed to reach adulthood. A big part though I think is the loss of non familial communities. In ye olden times, the women would gather with the children and would all kind of cover for each other, the children were basically everyone's. But now if you don't have some close relatives to help with the kids, you are suddenly shit out of luck. I don't have a solution for this problem, everything has become so individualistic that I can't see how that would be recreated. Would do wonders for family rearing though if you could trust your neighboors and they could trust you to help raising each others families.

OK, no more sperging about gender relations and abortion.

From what I see the Dem convention is gayer and faker than I even expected. I'm, just sad that Joe didn't have an episode or that the tin pot revolutionaries lacked the balls to go in once actual resistance was presented.

Really good?

She looks like the person cast as Grimace in the live action Ronald McDonald movie.

I think the purple would work better if it were toned down a bit, but purples and browns can be very complimentary. I agree that the vibrancy is somewhat too much, and I'll admit this is me speaking with the reference of her outfit earlier in the thread in mind.

...So a really low bar.

It's actually impressive how she's dominating the "Not Giving a Fuck" games by not even bothering there.

Mainstream news went ahead and discredited the idea of a Sep. 4 debate. It wouldn’t surprise me if this isn’t considered news because Orange Man was being a bully for pushing for a Fox debate.
Lame and gay. I will admit though that when I first posted the comment I thought it was about the one on ABC so I thought she wasn't doing a debate at all.

Sucks though because that means she'll def do the ABC one and get the questions beforehand. Like I said, lame and gay.

What the actual fuck. Wasn't this Beshear fellow supposed to be the 'respectable' and non-controversial moderate among Harris' running mate options? Now I wish she had chosen this piece of shit over the turd from Minnesota, would've made for just as great a contrast as Vance the Veteran vs. AWalz of the Stolen Valor. Two white Appalachian guys from neighboring states: the no-name hick from a broken family of 'white trash' who unironically bootstrapped his way to success and a major party's vice-presidential slot by the time he turned 40 vs. the spoiled scion of a political dynasty, who clearly must never have known hardship nor ever gotten himself into a remotely dangerous situation if he feels so comfortable casually wishing rape on the families of his political enemies - got all the makings of an underdog story which all red-blooded Americans should love.
