Baldness is an insecurity for women because they worry about their attractiveness which is a big deal to women (and men to a lesser degree). A balding woman does not feel like she has lost her sex/gender and others do not perceive her as less of a woman, even if they think she's ugly. An ugly woman is still considered 100% a woman, even if she's so ugly she gets mistaken for a man. She might say she feels "less feminine" but "feminine" is a code word for attractive, it has nothing to do with loss of sex/gender. A balding woman will never be afraid to enter a woman's restroom or feel like she isn't supposed to be there (that thought wouldn't even cross her mind in the slightest), and no one would ever consider her being there a problem, which would be the case if balding was perceived as a loss of sex/gender in women.I certainly get that it is a valid insecurity. Which it also is for cis women, and why they wear a wig. So by definition, you’re just like every other bald woman. So don’t you dare conclude that you aren’t a woman. Because you are, and what you are feeling, is the proof of your womanhood.
A man in a dress having his suspension of disbelief bubble burst by his gross balding head is precisely nothing like a woman struggling with low self esteem because of hair loss. A sweaty balding ogrehon isn't struggling with feeling attractive, a sweaty balding ogrehon is struggling with reality inconveniently reminding him that he's just a gross sweaty balding man in a dress and that I Will Never Be A Woman.
