Politics has always been a heated event. Anyone who thinks current day events are steamy is just wrong. Even as far back as the founding fathers the different sides have always been at each others throats. We had some small measure of decorum in the 80's and 90's but that more because the MSM was more neutral and less desperate for clicks back then. Now the media is the ones helping to stoke the fires of hatred so people will click on their rage bait articles before they go bankrupt.

While the rhetoric may be a bit hot at the moment that's just because Harris has nothing to run on but ORANGE MAN BAD so keeping the heat on is her only path to victory.

Go back and read some of the US histories, not the bland shit they try to teach in schools, but the books from people of that time. Lots of crazy shit went down all the time in the halls of Congress.
