I’m already witnessing the decentralization in the community where some people just plain reject FA and DeviantArt and are more active on Twitter and Bluesky or Telegram and Discord servers. Not sure though how all those mobile furry dating apps are doing. Regardless, as long as the website is poppin’ and the majority of the fandom keeps integrating with it, FurAffinity won’t go away. A lot of people who sell art have spent their nearly entire life on it and established it as their major source of income, it would be frustrating to most of them to familiarize themselves to a new platform.

Twitter can get bad because it will decide to randomly shadow ban you thus making searching for things harder, and also the endless scroll in media will end up not scrolling anymore (and don't get me a-logging about artists who post a bunch of memes between new uploads.) Discord and Mega are great for archiving, especially if they do tags to find stuff easier. But FA has always reeked of the same problems I've had with Serebii, a Pokemon fan site with loads of documentation; A Web 1.0 design for computers that couldn't display 70 pt fonts properly with no plans to upgrade it.

Browsing artist pages lets you do that. Scraps have their separate tab. FA search is dogshit and nobody respects the tags anyway for it to work.

People browse through their subscription inbox and by visiting the pages of people that interest them directly. Or maybe visit the home page if they're in the mood for random art with a chance of diapers.
