It's the insurance companies. Because insurance "covers everything" it results in everyone charging out the asshole under the assumption that insurance will argue the total down for the consumer. Prior to the ACA, health insurance companies had to actually provide competitive coverage and service. Now, they don't have to do shit.

There is a growing movement of primary care physicians who start their own practice and do not take insurance because it makes everyone's life easier.

My estimation is that Kennedy will split the democrats between the old and new. A recognizable family name with political history compared to some new person nobody knows about other than she’s a woman raised by immigrant educated parents one of whom was a Marxist professor and the other from a high societal caste. It results in all sorts of headaches because if Maria Regina Jose Gonazalez (who barely speaks English and got some bullshit certification) codes your shit wrong, you get slammed with a huge bill. Then you have to spend the next 6 months on the phone with your insurance company until the government tells them to initiate a manual review.

Yes, this has happened to me. Yes, I am still mad about it. I hate my AG but that office helped me and flat out told the insurance company to unfuck itself.

Don't get me wrong, there's legit medical reasons why some women are on the pill ... But doctors will find a reason to prescribe it to anyone.

Even when you want the pill, they start pushing an iud on you. I told them multiple times that I didn't want the iud and they kept trying to convince me. I figure that's because they make more money off doing the procedure? It pissed me off, since I told them I want to be able to stop if I choose to.

One of the reasons I love my current GP is she did not give me any shit whatsoever when I expressed concerns about the COVID vaccine. She had the exact same concerns as me for the exact same reason (being rushed through clinical trials) but she said "I don't like it any more than you do, but I'm a doctor, so I have to get it." I declined every time it was offered by her staff and it was never an issue.

2) Somehow my parents got on the Harris e-mail list, probably when they tried to unsubscribe from a bunch of shitty political e-mail lists. My dad texted me that they're now sending e-mails more annoying than the fake Trump texts, saying "you have not contributed to the campaign and with X days left in the race, it could change everything!" or "we just need $35 and we can secure victory!" They are apparently double spamming these every 6-8 hours, and given the way Harris' campaign team write shitty snarky fat women e-mails, this seems to carry over with that Mean Girl attitude.

Not sure. I had the same doctor my whole life until I aged out of his practice (he did not do adult primary care). Then I had a Super Jew and I loved him because he didn't have an ego and talked more shit than most Farmers. He retired and I picked a random new doctor, who has since worked out.

Man, I can't think of a single OB-Gyn I've had, except my first, that hasn't had the most unprofessional attitude known to man when I tell them I do not want to go on birth control because it gave me permanent issues. I just want to know why such and such problem is getting worse and if it could mean something.

The only response you get, however, is to go on birth control, it's all just so fucking tiresome.

Went to the gyno a few years back with some concerns. I was told by two separate doctors (both women, to be clear) that they weren’t sure why I was experiencing these symptoms, but they were happy to get me on birth control. The second one didn’t even ask, she just wrote up a prescription and handed it to me. I was able to resolve the issue on my own by doing some reading and eating better/exercising more.

Drives me absolutely fucking nuts that “women’s healthcare” has been entirely reduced to contraception and the right to have a baby scraped out of your womb. And if you try to explain to other women about charting your cycle for health and to establish baselines, they look at you like you’ve grown a third eye.

There is a ton of bloat in hospital administrative staff too. Lots of non-doctors being paid six figures whose sole job is screwing sick people. Hospitals have entire floors for their medical coding departments and all they do is figure out what insurance codes to put on those forms. There's an insurance code for every random thing you can imagine. Shark attack? There's an insurance code. Meteor impact? There's an insurance code. Intentionally stabbed with a fork? There's a code. Accidentally stabbed with a fork? That's a different code.
