Furry Fandom and Drama General

Reading the official announcement of the site being back to the furry owners were they stated that the hacker had no access to personal data or confidential data to FA. This means the faggot zoomer never had juicy logs of mods being pedos from the beginning and was cock teasing all of us. Fuck that guy.
Remember: nothing ever happens.
What's a protogen?
Basically a cyborg. The craziest part is the creator also has the "premium versions" called Primagen which are a "closed species" that can go for over $1000 because "only the creator is allowed to make them".

This is by far my favorite meme in the furry community, "You don't understand you have to pay me I totally have legal standing to copyright derivative works of my shitty fictional species." as if Nintendo wouldn't legally enslave half of the furfag community via lawsuits if that was true.

There used to be a group of them for each major closed species that would go around harassing anyone violating their species guidelines, I think they still exist but they have moved onto more difficult to track platforms. I would love for this thread to be revived but I haven't been able to find anything funny enough.

In some capacity, yep. A good chunk of the closed species crowd has moved towards more insular VRChat, Second Life, Discord, and Telegram communities. Most of them you need an explicit invite to even get into, whether that's by buying into them outright (the norm for VRChat species), or being invited as part of a pyramid scheme.

Though for better or worse, closed or otherwise restricted species as a concept has just been kinda dying out as the internet continually ages. Adopts as a business model has been more widely getting correctly seen as simply dumb. Plenty of closed species have been opening up over the years, newer closed species are a lot more laissez-faire than the old ones used to be, and restricted species have been trending towards only caring about models, ref sheets, and other assets.

My own speculation is that the NFT bubble ended up making a lot of species creators self-aware; a lot of NFT collections were basically just closed species for rich normies, after all. Same business strategies, "product" output, and all. The decline of closed species does line up with the peak of the NFT bubble, as far as I'm aware.

On the same topic of protegents, there’s something odd about how most hybrid or imaginary species that furries create look so cringeworthy or just radiate uncomfortable impressions. There’s certainly some darwinistic aspect to it that I keep failing to comprehend; it’s like the artists try to include all their kinks into a single human-like creature, setup a full-on Tolkien-style lore around it and a bunch of deets that nobody except for the highly impressionable autistic individuals would care enough to know.

Sometimes it isn't even the creators fault, if you don't know about the Avali you should know that Furries took a somewhat interesting alien species some Spore autist made back in 2008 and turned it into yet another vehicle for their fetishes.

Some having trying to hang on like the semi closed one especially sergals, avali and that one stupid dragon one. Where the artist has declared you have to follow our 40 pages of autistic slobber and if your characters ears are slightly the wrong shape you'll be executed.

But the paid ones are mostly dead it seems unfortunately because I found it hilarious how they'd organize gayops for the crime of drawing your stupid ugly cyborg screen face thing with wings.

Everyone in the wild with a Proto-whatever avatar are always heavily autistic (Like you know, more than usual).
But they gave birth to synths, which if you are gonna be a tech-fur-fag are much cooler and less gay
All proto’s and Proto-adjacent get the rope.

Yeah, robots and colorful animals are a combination that'll attract turbo-autists in an instant.

Other than the fact anyone with a protogen profile picture is mentally unstable my second issue with them is that they aren't even robots. They are fully flesh except for a computer monitor taped to their face, they are cyborgs at most.

Look guys I'm a robot now.

Yes it's an autistic nitpick, no I don't care.

Hate that shit. Nitpick justified.

I thought all the normies and snowflakes ditched X?

primagens? the hell is even the difference lmao

That is because nearly all of them are early teens (basically children) who got recruited into the furry fandom by furries on ROBLOX. Or in other words: Groomed by furries that get off to making children into furries. When you see a protogen fursona online it will nearly always belong to this particular demographic. Whoever popularized protogens to kids on ROBLOX should honestly be brought to face their actions. Same for whoever popularized furry transformation porn and BLACKED raceplay there. But of course it all gets swept under the rug instead. :(

The other side to that, for the fraction of furries that aren't really into NSFW stuff or are, at least, not coombrains about it, is protogen are seen as the normie option. People show up, see them, go 'ha, cool robot man thing', maybe don a proto avatar and otherwise don't interact with anything furry. I admit I only know this cause it was explained to me after I saw one and had the same 'oh, robot guy' thought.
