Hip Hop Family Tree was not a good book and only won the Eisner because he offed himself. To be fair to Mundane Zack, he isn't pushing this for clout he always was a huge Cartoonist Kayfabe fan and fawned hard over X-Men Grand Design which was literally just a giant omnibus worth of summary pages of the Claremont era of x-men.

Maybe he's just engagement farming to get people to comment their favorite or whatever, but how has this guy supposedly a comics expert and reviewer not read every punisher book by now? Or at least he should know what the good runs are on Punisher (original run Baron or Dixon and Lee/Potts stuff or Punisher max with Garth Ennis). I don't think it's raw jealousy of success making him go after FNT or Drinker right now. I think he got upset that he had two audience reactions, one that completely agrees with him on comics and one that completely disagrees on movies/shows. So when he started looking at other movie critics he got jealous that their audience agrees.

I think he's angry that they have a large audience that laps up all their gay rage shit and that he used to be one of them. That's why he's going off like a jilted lover on the FNT crew and not on other large channels that do the same shtick as Gary and Co. It's not just that they're producing content he no longer enjoys, it's an insidious enterprise designed to brainwash dupes into rejecting Art & Culture and enrich a cabal of evil panhandlers. He broke free from FNTology's mind prison and now he's fighting an uphill battle to save people from not watching Furiosa and The Acolyte. Very noble.

I mean it's true that their thumbnails are cringe, their talking points tend to be repetitive and even get things very wrong sometimes. So, Zack has that going for him. However, most of the stuff they are criticizing is also cringe and bad. To be honest, even if Zack was more intelligent in his attacks, I wouldn't be into it, because it's a waste of a video (or a community post). But Zack's idea of calling them out is to defend the Acolyte. To quote the president, "C'mon, man!" It's hot garbage, and no I don't need to watch it to come to that conclusion.

Beyond that, there's the fact I've seen Zack's hot takes on various movies and TV shows. He doesn't have good taste. One of the reasons I never even considered buying one of his comics was due to that, "If this is the kind of stuff he likes, his comics are probably terrible." Even if he and I like the same movie, I still don't want to hear his commentary on it. Besides, his current arc started by him telling me I have to like these things. It wasn't "Don't believe the anti-hype, this is a good movie," it was "Oh, you don't want to watch this movie. I guess you must be a closet-case loser who can't get a woman and lives in a dumpster eating garbage." Um, thanks Zack. (Also, if the people who don't like these movies are gay why would they want to get a woman, Zack? Try thinking about it, Zack.)

He is under the assumption that just because he has nothing going on in his life other than his channel and comics no one else has either. Nerdrotic and the rest of the gang propably have hobbies, friends and family they spend time with because they do not burn their bridges every Tuesday nor do they couch surf. That’s another reason I think Zack lost viewership to them. These guys (and girls) are married (even have kids), or dating. They go out, have meetups + hang with their audience in person, and they play video games together on stream. They have fun in between nerd-spergs.

We talked about it before but it just came to me that Ghost in the Shell (the animated stuff) would be the ultimate test for Zack. It is anime but it is very critically acclaimed and it has everythinng he likes. Supersoldiers, high-tech, action and a sexy badass waifu. His ability to have horrible taste on nearly everything will meet its match on something that has everything he likes and is good. I would love to see his mind break over it.

It is anime but it is very critically acclaimed and it has everythinng he likes. Supersoldiers, high-tech, action and a sexy badass waifu. His ability to have horrible taste on nearly everything will meet its match on something that has everything he likes and is good. I would love to see his mind break over it.

Exactly. Stupid opinions seem to will themselves into reality when he talks about anything that is not comics. Still, it would be a good entry point for him. It is such a shame, the medium he dismisses has so much to offer into everyone, including weird autists (and in hindsight I do believe he has some autism that was somewhat colored by military life) like him but he would not have it. He grew up with comicbook and he will defend them from the woke with his life but everything else he is fine with letting the woke mindvirus take over because his autistic brain does not register it as the same mindvirus. So sad. He would rather attack his audience than find comics he likes. I read a few comics some time ago such as the Luther Strode stuff and Switch (no not that one) and I really liked them. Even now there is stuff I like about western comicbooks though I have switched to manga and aime almost completely. Zack is just spiraling into oblivion.

My opinion on the lawsuit has been stated: I am disappointed but understanding. The lawsuit could have been settled for many reasons. Zack 's money running out, Waid getting a job at DC and getting money from it, the judge running out of patience, Zack getting what he wanted out of it which was for SJWs to not interfere with his work etc etc. There were multiple reasons as to why he should settle then and there even if it upsets us. In the end, we do not know what happened and we better not throw tomatoes at things we do not understand. If some expected for the lawsuit to grant Zack the legal right to skin and wear Waid like a spergy version of the Nemean Lion, then that is on them. The message was sent though: do not do bullshit unless you have the money for a lawsuit (which most comic creators are too broke for and the rest have better things to do.) That is a good enough win as it comes with first-class protection (from broke ass comicbook writers anyway). As for the porn, I do not care as much as it is kind of boring. He was an extra.

Outrage clicks are one thing. Turning his outrage to his audience is another. He is cutting his nose to spite his face. This is self-defeating behaviour without the possibility for success. Again, sometimes things are beyond one 's control. Also, lawsuits drain money fast and this one lasted quite a while. Money running out is well within the realm of possibilities. The money that was donated might have been seen as a king 's ransom but that means nothing if you are in an expensive lawsuit that takes too much and your lawyer has to be paid.
Good lawyers are expensive.
