WhatifAltHist / Rudyard Lynch - History youtuber, galaxy brained, no credentials and no sex

I wonder how long until Rudy goes on 4chan and goes "How do you do, fellow wignats?"
The problem with Rudy is that anytime he is met with slightly positive reception from an internet circle, he follows by immediately attempting to claim both seniority and superiority over everyone else there that people respects, and ridicules people when they correct him. Eventually he has a meltdown, those people turn against him, and them he looks for another circle to begin the cycle again while desperately keep the people he briefly gained from leaving.

Before he tried to get into the debate-bro genre, he was doing this toward the DR. He tried to get Bronze Age Pervert's attention many times directly and failed, even though BAP will tall to literally anybody. When he made a few tweets that were criticial of schools and reasonable to incels, he got massive attention from libs ridiculing him, followed by finally a positive reaction from a few DR people. He kept pushing the topic, bought up other topics like problems with democracy, anti-immigration, and got further support from basically every faction of the DR.

But of course, Rudy wouldn't bother actually reading any of the literature that the people he wanted to prove himself more mature, and serious, and better travelled than. His new followers noticed how even though he repeated their conclusions, his reasoning was either deranged or nonsense, and he kept getting things wrong. Hell, even I DM'd on twitter him at the time out of pity, giving him a very good list of the most accessible literature and telling him what was basically advice in not becoming a lolcow.

He couldn't control himself. He started talking about how he would be the first person on the right to actually give practical advice, that everyone else juat didn't really understand what was going on and he was the only one who could put it together, and how he knew better because he stayed in three countries ans how he read 200 books, which btw, is a fantastic indication of a pretender. Anyone who reads a large number of books recognizes that most of his time was wasted in the process because only a few ultimately mattered, and is slightly ashamed of it.

He went from regularly being encouraged by his personal heroes like Sargon, to being corrected constantly. And when he sperged on his essays about his superiority, people finally dug into his channel (most of his lolcow behaviour is on twitter). And when the DR people found put he was fat, ugly, and balding, there was no going back. He started blocking people, deleting tweets, and focused on the incel revolution stuff, since that was the least controversial topix he could talk about without revealing his retarded thinking and get some positive reception. I stopped keeping track of him around the time his picture was being posted.

I suppose he decided to get into the debate-bro sphere next because he observed, correctly to be fair, that every celebrity in that sphere was definitely far more stupid than him, and if he could get a step in, all he had to do was talk and he could get massive success. He should probably have tried to get into the AF sphere tbh, since most of the people he had pissed off were fans of Bronze Age Pervert and he could have made himself into Fuentes' top guy in their conflict, but I wonder if he recognized that AF would be a dead end for any online career.

That's a hilarious insult made in that note specifically because rudyard literally draws maps with watercolors like he's a child.

Also why am I not surprised that he once again tries to argue that he's right about everything because he's read a lot of books? He did that in his debate with Vaush and now it's his go to argument every time someone criticizes him.

Hopefully his dad put that up on the fridge.

Reading books is one thing, actually understanding the words written is another. Unfortunately Rudy decided reading comprehension was not necessary for him during his schooling days.

I've traversed this space of YouTube more than once, and what consistently annoys me about Rudy in particular is the bizarre combination of his advocacy of "saving the west" while simultaneously giving a ton of unnecessary praise and acclaim to "Islam", and in particular Turkey/the Ottoman Empire as a cultural force. To Rudy, Turkey (I refuse to use their stupid renaming LARP) is destined to birth a new Ottoman empire simply because it's just that awesome. To him, geography and demographics are the sole determinant of whether a state will expand, completely ignoring context like "what X country's neighbors think of this scenario" or what the CITIZENS of country X think of imperialism. Empires are fundamentally elitist and self-destructive toward the culture that births them, but again Rudy is coming at this study from a Paradox player's perspective, so he doesn't fully comprehend that massive, continent spanning empires are not necessarily always great. If he had bothered to speak to any actual young Arab and ask their thoughts on whether what the middle east needs is "Ottoman LARP 2.0", they'd laugh in your face, but Rudy doesn't care about empirical evidence. Why? Because he's not quite as bright as he thinks he is. He'll read somebody like Edward Dutton, and his essay on "the past being a future country", and think to himself "surely this means the world will simply revert to the 17th century in every way!", rather than reading the actual meat of such essays, which are more about the rigid stratification and political instability of the 17th century coming back than a literal time warp 400 years into the past. It pisses me off because if people like this were willing to recognize their own biases and make some consideration for the possibility they might be wrong about a thing or two, it would make for significantly more stimulating content.

"I read every book on the topic" . Lol lmao even. I dont know how many languages does Rudyard speak well enough to read book in that language. But I dont think it is that many. So in best case scenario he read stuff that were written/ translated in english. And handful of other works in languages he understands. And ignored rest which is kinda problem if you are talking about civilisation around the globe.
Even if his library might look impressive to normies on twitter everyone who studied history knows there are hundreds of books about every niche topic.
Also despite all of his "research" best he could do is copy religion map from EU4 end date.

What did you guys think of this debate? I'm not very educated on the topic so I don't have anything interesting to say about it. I'm curious what anybody who actually is has to say. Majority of the commenters seem to think Rudyard lost. It was funny how he threatened to leave like two minutes in
I watched about half of it, and it wasn't even really a debate. Rudyard argued the dark ages were good because individuals' standard of living increased (evidenced by dental and height records) while Gnostic argued it was negative because of the intellectual, architectural, and overall cultural decline. Rudyard actually agreed with Gnostic's take on it towards the beginning, so it seems like the 'debate' was more like a misunderstanding between each of them holding positions that aren't mutually exclusive.

I would've rather seen Rudyard do a debate to defend positions he more seriously holds, like his stances on the spirit world, the incel revolution, the civil war/general societal collapse, and his methodology/historiography.

I found this on Twitter today, Rudy sure love to brag about hiking a quarter of the 2,190 mile Appalachian trail plus he thinks this makes him an expert on the cruel indifference of nature.

I mean he's not wrong though, nature is ruthless. Killing off all mosquitoes or ridding the world of barnacles probably would do less hard then if we tried some new green new deal lol.
