Uwe Boll has tortured the cinephiles with a lot of abysmal crap over the decades, but I don't think he managed to reach Dustborn level.
Also none of the people who are responsible for this crime of a game would ever engage their critics in a public boxing match.
There must've been zero professional oversight regarding the gov funding for this game. It's bad, preachy shit and will never make profit, but I guess that's no concern as long as some check boxes on some documents are ticked off and everyone involved feels really good about themselves.

I think he got way more government funding for his movies (I think each movie got some funding in the millions) than Dustborn did from Norway and the EU. I wouldn't know where to find the stats for his movies as far as funding goes so I guess I have to say "trust me, bro" on this one lol.

The exactly opposite is also true of them. Somebody could have a great work behind them but they said/did racist thing so let's cancel no matter how we much like what they created.
A good example is HP Lovecraft, they fucking love Lovecraftian stuff but they also always make sure to discredit him. Stuff like that recent TV show (Where they make the protag a black man) or I remember this roleplaying system that had a huge diatribe disclaimer at the beginning disavowing Lovecraft.
