Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

That looks to me like an opt-in program for sellers. I'm not sure why anybody would want to opt in for that badge so maybe I'm wrong.

Even if they hold people like EVS to it there's nothing stopping them from putting Year 2036 ship dates on their projects.
It sounds like they're trying to create 2 crowdfunder tiers: "Trusted" and everyone else. Then they promote the trusted ones. It's a roundabout way of asking certain people to fuck off, but it won't matter to CG dents unless it's an indication of more changes coming in the future.

What are the benefits of participating in the Shipping Guarantee Program? Participating in this program can significantly enhance your campaign’s credibility, attract more early adopters, and increase conversion rates by offering backers a guaranteed shipping assurance.

At least they are forced to be honest. But it'll be hilarious when they have bled the Campaign money dry despite having to put the real estimate arrival.
EVS will just say IGG stopped promoting CG projects already so there's no point getting that Trusted badge as a cope. They'd probably deny him anyway with all his undelivered campaigns.

If IGG really wanted to take a stand they could easily prevent people with a half-dozen unfulfilled campaigns from launching new ones.

It would still be an improvement.

1. It would force CG to be more honest.

2. It would serve notice upon people who aren't familiar with how CG operates, and who just want a damn comic book, that they are going to be waiting a long ass time for their damn comic book.

I'm all for it.

Nobody in EVS' circles is going to sign up for this shit.

If it's voluntary, that would be a problem, yes. Though I suppose then you could point out that nobody in CG signed up for it, and that's a red flag. Why not? Are they not diligent and trusted campaigners?

I agree they should make it mandatory as a condition of using IGG, but I dunno if they are interested in going that far.

One of the reasons why I've long suspected IGG never cracked down on this crap is, at the end of the day, they're making money off of CG rubes too. Arguing ethics in the face of money to a corporation is never easy.

Its all ogre boys.

On a scale of lol to lmfao, how much is Ethan about to find out?

I think Ethan is at the very least going to try to spin this to IGG. I think he'll run with the "my customers are paying for art, they know it takes time" angle. Its his favorite excuse after all.
I'm a layman who just likes sperging about Zack.... So help me here.

Will I get my money back for Doomkicker and other unfulfilled shite STILL being waited on?

That seems unlikely. The program appears to be opt in, as others have stated. Unless they go full draconian and force people into it, or quietly apply it to truant campaigns, I don't imagine much will change. Who knows, though? As Manning proposed this could be a prelude to more brutal rules and or enforcement. I don't think that is likely because corporation, but its possible.

Edit: For what it is worth. still a hand-full of undelivered campaigns on my backed list as well. You're far from alone on that irritating front, brother sister cousin.

Ooooooh.

This could get interesting!

People have speculated for a long time whether IGG would do something like this.

It looks like it won't apply to EVS and others. But with this now a thing. I wonder if this could mean not allowing someone to create a new campaign while the person has a dozen campaigns already in progress.

The loading dock awaits, Zack. Or you could put the fries in the bag. Or become an actual birthday party clown. The point is... Zack needs to get a real job soon.

Yeah people here are getting too excited about it. This is only going to apply to people who have a proven record of providing products promptly. Pretty good deal for guys like Brian Pulido and Tim Lim since they would only benefit from being put to the front of the line seeing as they know how to stick to a schedule. EVS and the rest of CG are never going to apply or qualify for this because then they'd actually have to follow the deadlines they posted and be held accountable by Indiegogo when they didn't and of course they just can't have that.

Again, can you imagine EVS chimping if IGG gives a special badge or something, but Ethan doesn't get one?

You're right this isn't that huge of a deal that will break CG, but it still has potential for funny.

That is what most people do not get. You can criticise someone 's enemies and praise how they dealt with them without it being a deification of the guy. Many people think others have two settings: sucking someone 's dick and skinning them alive. They cannot understand that you can acknowledge someone as less than perfect but still good or at least better than their detractors.
(including about 2/3rd of the population of kiwifarms...)

I want Cyberfrog tucked away in no man’s land while PTP and Tim Lim get primo promotion. Ideally in the margins of his own campaign’s page. This is my fond desire.

Unless I misunderstood the article (very possible as I am a retard) but it says IGG holds the campaign money until fulfillment is complete and the refunds would come out of that. I repeat, NOBODY in EVS' circle is going to sign up for that shit. In fact that defeats the whole purpose of a crowdfund when you need the money up front to produce your product.

EVS will somehow blame this on Eric July.

So much potential. Ethan would be salty enough if someone he hated got the True & Honest IndieGoGo Seal of Approval, but imagine if one of his Kangz managed to secure one. How long do you think it would be before Frog declared a fatwa on Aaron Lopresti or Graham Nolan or even Tucci?

Eric July should start IGG campaigns just for the fuck of it. He already has the product and the fulfillment covered so it would be a breeze. He'd eventually earn the IGG Good Boy badge and Ethan would seethe forever.
