I'm watching the WWEC stream. I'm just going to assume this level of jubilation is not normal, yea?

he's rapid fire explaining all sorts of weird things about the game, it's reminds me of listening to someone talk about their weird hobby nobody has ever asked about before
I've been watching Phil a long time and this is the most elated I've seen him playing games. Out of all the Street Fighter talk and experience, he doesn't have knowledge of things like frame data, which moves are safe, or even some of the basic lore of characters. But Champions? Oh man. He didn't even pretend dumb about it. He knew everything about that game, the characters history, the glitches, and how to minmax spending. It's insane.

Absolutely is true lmao. Champions not only forces you to pay for VIP to even do some of the pulls the rates are absolute shit. He isn't even doing the big boy pulls that cost $100 for 30 pulls.

This is in the absolute bottom of the bottom tier of gacha games with the likes of monopoly go.
Monopoly Go is a Scopely game too.

He has a Rainman like knowledge of this game. A card would pop up and he would tell you about the time X years ago when the release of this card was glitched and everybody got a free one. And then somebody asked about music, and he went into detail about the lore of why it isn’t in the game.

Like somebody else said, he retains nothing from session to session in something like Street Fighter 6, and scoffs at people who try to explain the deeper nuances of the game and how to get better.

You said it yourself Phil can articulate and have a conversation, and I honestly think he could make WWE Champions guides that would be… helpful. If he was smart, he’d have reached out to Scopely ages ago and tried to make that a thing.

So, the theory is that the 5k business expenses from the bankruptcy are his normal expenses plus his WWEC spending correct?

Would this not give him cover if that is ever actually investigated? He can always reference this stream to show he plays this as a business expense. Not sure how that would work legally since that was in the past and this is current year, but if it does work it would be really smart of Phil. Not that I think he thinks that far ahead, but you never know.

Phil can legitimately claim his single room as a business expense but that would be a few hundred a month, tops. He seldom upgrades his tech and maybe buys a couple of games a month

If gacha game purchases can be a business expense I should beble to livestream myself hitting the pokies and claim that as a business expense. You can't do that so I dont see why you could do that with cacha other than the law being broken and not up to date with mobile game shit

Is there any risk of a creditor still wanting to look into this? I would think that by now, no interested party would be interested in revisiting this.

By now, Philip should be paying double to Scopely with two accounts and just go DOWN FROM THE RAFTERS.

I was not aware of that. I would think it would fall under any other business expense, but its not my line of work so what do I know.

If I were him, I would be more worried about the government. If they get a wiff of someone scamming them and there is money to be recouped, they'll get their pound of flesh. Not that I agree with that, but Gov be Gov'ing. But I'm sure that time has long passed. My thought is it definitely could cover and future issues and might cover past issue.

I'm watching the stream and it took him just over an hour of streaming to actually "play" the game. An hour of money coming in, pulling cards and lore dumping. This man must be in heaven. I think this is his future assuming he can keep up a similarish level of support. Fuck playing small, one off games on the "chill night streams". Its hogan time! To echo the sentiment of everyone else here - He seems really happy and energized. This arc just keeps throwing me for loops.

I think my brain have short circuited because of this. But when I was I child before the twin towers fell, me and a friend invented this game where we would play chess and one of those wrestling games for my dreamcast. Kill one Pice = one move in the game. The dumbest combination of anything ever. Well, NO obviously not. If you combine something dumber you have something people just keep paying for. The ultimate low effort carnival game where you can't win anything except an animated guy in a speedo.

It is just so funny to me how Phil could be in the deepest black hole of gambling addiction known to mandkind. And obsessed idiots somehow made this profitable for him. Is that right? Is that supposed to happen?

it's like asking an autistic child what their favorite dinosaur is :story:

all jokes aside he should definitely just make this his niche. the biggest wwec channel I could find makes around 1.2-1.5k views on a good vid, with 500-800 average. dsp is already beating those numbers in less than a day on his wwec uploads, which is way better than average for him. between ad revenue, above average tips, and his genuine love for the game, he could do very well for himself with this, even as the hype dies down after the first few streams. stream . Assuming he could control himself, which he obviously can't.
