Sony cancelled five (iirc) other live service shooters, including TLoU:Factions - the one the fans have been screaming for, because Sony believed they would tank. Then they released Concord.

Sony have no idea what a good game is anymore and they've been infiltrated by the mind-virus ever since they moved their HQ to cali.

The funniest video on youtube. The TV show was called Boomerang and the studio wanted the presenter fired, so they set him up, didn't allow him to interview the guest and then put another guest in the audience with a Microphone.
Be sure to find the full length video with subtitles and the robot-voiced guy at the end. If you aren't in tears by the end, you have no soul.

perhaps you are right. I'm glad I only had ps2 and ps1 games, so I could know only their golden days.

It is actually really depressing thinking that they had such a pedigree, and still sunk so low.
Anyway, the last dip in the daily player count went barely above 50.....If this keeps up, its GOING to death spiral, and nobody will log on. Escaping a player population death is almost impossible for multiplayer games. Even if they made bots instantly to cushion that, I'm not sure it would help.

Its also worth considering, people "ingame" are just people with it running, this might not necessarily even be in a match, so game death is eminent

I don't think it's that unsalvageable. Drop in new characters to wash the taste of the old ones out, launch a couple of sexy coombait characters like wraith from Apex.
If the gameplay is good then that's 80% of the battle, the rest is getting it into the hands of players.
Concentrate on the PS5 fanbase, do a double-xp (or whatever) weekend and make it F2P. Issuing an apology always helps

It wouldn't take any resources other than making a few characters. For the potential reward they'll gain it will be a net positive to spend a little.

Bungie management should have been gutted with prejudice the second they refused to port Destiny 1 and 2 to PSVR2. They should have been launch titles. Sony management are cowards.

I've been watching that video a few times a year for more than 15 years. It's a classic youtube video from way back in the day, like the kid playing Canon Rock on guitar.
If you watched the version with the subtitles, the interviewer loses it when squeaky voice guy says "The bit I miss most about sex is the sweet talk". Phenomenal line to drop.

It's been a couple of days since I turned off crossplay and haven't noticed a difference in queue times. Even playing at times where the playerbase is lower due to time I've had no issues, I'm not being matched with the same people either and I've only had connection issues once.

It's weird, I have no doubt that this game has pathetic numbers but that in my experience hasn't affected the queue times or the match quality. I wonder what kind of voodoo they are implementing to do this.

Some players have reported that matchmaking no longer takes regions into account, meaning that OCE players could get matched up with EU or NA players, which means either of them will have extreme latency. Backfilling games also may have either been disabled, or bugged out.

But basically, its REALLY bad, especially if they use match making.

They will absolutely never do any of these things.

They're 100% convinced those character designs are brilliant and powerful and couldn't bear to get rid of them. They're viciously, violently allergic to attractive people of any kind (but especially women) so they will not (and at this point probably cannot) create any. They genuinely believe they've created a misunderstood masterpiece and engineered its monetization to match (so they'll never even consider going F2P). And they're faaaaaar too egotistical and fragile to ever apologize for anything.
