There's some guy sperging about what he's dealing with as well in the Discord, who just has revealed he's a sovcit. Peak levels of retardation in the Bossmancord.

Most addicts quit when they hit absolute rock bottom in their lives. Sure you could have an iron discipline and a lot of perspective on your own actions causing you to start the road to recovery earlier but that's unlikely for many reasons. The most effective rehab programs I have ever witnessed essentially build you up as a new person without your vice. Generally giving you a community and a reason to live without whatever substance you were addicted to.
That's true for hardcore addicts, but a lot of people just quit once they start having negative effects. You could argue they aren't "real" addicts even if they've been heavy users for a time, and that might be true. Some people just aren't wired for addiction like others. So you have people who have one scare or get sick of feeling bad all the time and just quit, but then you have people like Layne Staley from Alice in Chains who keep going despite absolutely nightmarish consequences and even knowing their death is imminent if they don't stop.

The last interviews with that guy are depressing as fuck.

Celebrities often fit into this class because unlike normal people, they often have basically unlimited disposable income, lots of stress, and unlimited access to drugs, to the point even if they actually are broke from their habits, people will constantly all but throw drugs at them.

Normal people who haven't descended into hardcore addiction at some point don't have the money to sustain a habit, and decide "hey I'm not going to become homeless/suck dick/turn into a thief/whatever." It's a genuine slippery slope though. If you hit that point and decide to keep going, the consequences get much worse much more quickly. That's when people just surrender to it and decide they have nothing left to lose anyway.

To bring it back to ACP I'm not sure we know what kind of (chemical) addict he is, and the chemicals may not even be his worst problem. He's definitely a terminal gamba addict and sadly, suicide is really common with this sort.

He said he’s been using various drugs since his teenage years. At this point, I feel like he’s doing drugs out of habit, not because he has become addicted to point where they are necessity. I’ve been curious to know what really lead to the beginning of his drug use. I’ve kinda gathered that dude is/was a loner and might have started using to fit in with whatever crowd accepted him. His parents aren’t too involved in his life, and probably weren’t back then either.

A once good friend of mine IRL started smoking crack because of a girl he was seeing. He had never done any drugs prior and decided to smoke with her because he thought it would strengthen their bond. Said friend, at the time, was in a pretty good position in life as far as finances go. Within months, he lost his nice job, apartment, car, and had to move back into his parent’s place where he would go to pawn all of their belongings so he could buy more crack for he and his woman.

The crack high only lasts a few minutes, and true addicts will do anything in their power to try to maintain that high. I don’t think Austin’s addiction has reached what I would call “critical mass”. He likes to do drugs for fun, and could probably go without them if needed - obviously doesn’t want to. His lifestyle affords him enough money to play around with to buy what he wants. Although he has claimed to sell some of the gold he had purchased, we haven’t seen him desperately put up his coveted CS2 skins or ugly Jordan’s up for sale, the latter of which he could probably trade in person for some rock if he wanted.

I really like this one because, at least momentarily, he did consider this "sign" and got the fuck out of dice once he got his mouse back in order. He continued gamba and still lost a bunch on slots, but at least he didn't insta crash his 9k into 0 like he doubtless would have if he kept going.

You probably havent even been paying attentionbut Austin's totally sober and fine. He's only doing what he's allowed to do for his bargain with the Probation Office. Sorry he is better than your hate boner Rekeita.

Why the fuck are you talking about an IRL friend smoking crack? Are you here trying to get people to asspat you to tell you "you are awesome, can believe you're super cool crack friend.." Get this faggot ass TMI out of here. You're fucking weird bro.
