Well, it can me something very different.
It is basically teenagers getting horny and playing "girlfriend & boyfriend" online, but there is no guarantee that there is actually a person of similar age behind the account.

It is a tale as old as the internet that accounts are run by old guys touching themselves while chatting with 12 year old girls about Barbies and talking them into sending them pictures of themselves. Its typical online grooming, only in this case Roblox as the platform is not doing anything about it despite people reporting this blatantly illegal content and behavior.

So while "online dating" between teenagers can be totally harmless, no parent can ever know if there is an actual teenager on the other side of the chat.

[EDIT] Back when the internet was relatively new we had websites dedicated to hosting chatrooms in which kids could hang out online and chat about things. These were pretty much always the stalking ground for pedos and groomers and everyone has at least one case in their extended group of friends who went to "meet with their online boyfriend/girlfriend only to find a significantly older person. It was actual real advice to "never visit your online friends alone and always bring at least a +1".

I was asleep after making that one r63 post so whatever autistic mass debate happened while I was out I didn't engage further than that.
Generally kids are dumb and will fall for anything because they don't know better, there was a case of pedophiles pretending to be Chicken Nuggets and Ice Cream to lure them into their homes, so if that can happen then pedoes on Roblox absolutely can get kids to engage in worse acts, especially if they got blackmail like that one guy who got a kid to fuck his dog or drink his piss I think.

Roblox has no moderation - I've gone on that platform with a friend on more than one occasion and managed to spout slurs by dividing our message between the two accounts, been reported countless times and never once banned. It's grimy to the core - Roblox is grimy with their devex program basically ripping off people, and the game makers are scum with how obnoxious they are with their games encouraging children to spend robux on stupid shit like a fucking radio.

As a whole, Roblox needs to be shut down. Nothing about that platform is redeemable.

Thanks for explaining it. I kinda figured from the weird grammar that treats it as almost a proper noun.
I remember old chatrooms but I think the big differences is that we knew they were pedos, had no interest in talking to them, and they had nothing they could offer.

However, on Habbo Hotel, I distinctly remember American kids, whose parents won't let them use the credit card, "scamming" British "kids" for furniture. Now I'm looking back and wondering if the guys who "got scammed", were predators.

There is no safe space from pedos and groomers.
Wherever there is a place in which kids can do things without parental supervision they will strike.

Sports clubs, summercamps, boyscout, church events, internet. It really does not matter in what context it happens, but ONLY parental attention can protect the children.

This can be as:
  • Teaching kids properly how to protect themselves and what to look out for
  • Having an eyes on what your kids are doing online

It is simply much much easier to groom children online. Any random sex predator can just play Roblox after they were banned from filming the playground.

When I was younger, playing roblox, i was joining a game (i think something like one of those city rp games). Instead of going to the game I wanted, 11yo me ended up on a hacked game that had nude models of roblox characters with boobs and dicks, plus beds and bedrooms everywhere. I quickly left because i knew this wasn't appropriate lol and never saw it again.

God knows what is out there now, horrifying shit. I still play roblox on occasion when I'm bored bc some of the games are fun but I see some weird shit. I remember when all those sus games were coming out and there were a lot of lowkey sexual shit going on.

Showing my (lack of) age here, but my literal first encounter with sexual slang was through Disaster Hotel of all games. This was either 2010 or 2011.
