Mega Rad Gun Thread

Honestly goys, I think Paul would want us to keep moving forward.

Reminder that Hasan Piker mocked and berated this guy like he was some lunatic 'gun nut' when he was really just a sweet old man with fucking cancer.
(Preservetube)
The way Hasan carries himself is so low IQ, it's not just that his opinions are dumb but it's in the way he expresses himself. Other breadtubers will come up with contrived, tortured pretzel logic to explain their absurd opinions, but Hasan just reacts with "Whoa." "Dude!" "What?" "No way!" "Bro." "For real?" It's hard to describe, but I almost want to describe it as child-like. Nothing he says offers any real substance to it.

I'm probably sadder than I should be that Paul's dead. I'd hoped at some point to make it to one of the meetups he was hosting at gun shows. I suppose that ship has sailed.

On a marginally less depressing note, the title of the announcement being, "I'm Dead" is just so fucking funny to me. Not, "Paul has passed away", or any other way of pussyfooting around it. It's very on brand for Paul.

Mount on the ACRO failed yesterday. Optic flew off the slide and hit me in the face. I regret switching from an SRO. I estimate 3000-5000 rounds on this optic.

First time I've seen this. I've seen quite a few of them get water inside of them. Aimpoint really needs to figure out the ACRO, but a lot of other companies have the same moisture ingress issue. Holosun had the same problem with the 509T, and I recall seeing a photo of a Steiner MPS that got water inside of it. No idea if Holosun is having the same problem with their EPS line.

I wonder if Trijicon has figured out enclosed pistol dots with the RCR. I haven't been keeping an eye out for people having issues with it.

This is why I'm turned off to optics on pistols. The gutter sights on my revolver will never go flying on me or get moisture in them. Always been better with irons tbh.

Gutter sights on a snubnose revolver are like not having sighs.
Disagree tbh, it's how you use them. They will get you on a man sized target at 50 yards. I know I've done it. It's not a 12x scope on a bolt action, but it's a quick way to get on target. And if your front sight is serrated, you will have low light visibility.

You are suggesting a gutter sight snubnose is effective at 50 yards. Sorry, but I’m very skeptical of that claim.

And even if you are making that happen, the average person struggles a 7 yards with that setup.

I've made hits man. It can be done. They aren't bullseyes, but they are hitting a man sized silhouette. It's about training with your equipment. And I've had good teachers too. I can't speak for the average guy, I just know the equipment is capable of it because I can do it.

Regardless, gutter sights are objectively worse for accuracy than other sighting systems. They are gonna be more difficult to get hits with regardless of your skill level.
