Just out of curiosity - what about (chemical) castration?
I am not saying it's a solution and I genuinely didn't do any research on the topic, but I'm wondering if men would re-offend once they'd lose the ability to do so in the first place.

I don't know about chemical but apparently castrated rapists just switch to object rape and often escalate in violence, so I assume there's another way they get around it or some other reason it's not widely adopted. I don't think stopping the physical arousal stops the desire to rape.

I might've posted about him before, but I woke up today feeling all shitty and bad about my ex-boyfriend. It's weird because we haven't spoken in years, but so much stuff in my morning routine is making me think about him and the way he mistreated me.

He took basically every opportunity to disrespect me. I'd tell him about something I was looking forward to or thought was important, and the first chance he got he'd use that to hurt me. One time he took me home from a long day of work and I mentioned off-handedly how I loved that first flop onto my bed after work. When we got to my house, he came in with me and proceeded to go ahead of me and flop onto my bed, stealing my first flop. There were other instances that were more significant, like the poisoning my animals and kicking my bike and (maybe on purpose?) nearly making me late for work, but that little one came back to me today as I flopped onto my bed and I almost cried.

Then as I checked my blood sugar today, I couldn't help but remember the ways he'd always comment on my weight and what I was eating. One time I made microwave soup for dinner and was making myself toast to go with it and he seriously asked "Are you really going to eat that?" I told him yes and asked if he could stop criticizing me whenever I made food, and he went into this syrupy sweet voice he would do and was like "but if I don't, who will?" In the moment I replied "maybe nobody has to make me feel bad," but ever since then I've heard his words echo whenever I feel bad about my body. Changing rooms, big and tall stores, days when my shirt just feels too tight, being diagnosed with PCOS or diabetes or anything that basically reaffirms my lived reality that losing weight is difficult and something is wrong, everything just echoes "but if I don't [beat you up for being fat], who will?" I will, clearly! I've done it since I was 7, and I'm still doing it! I'm still beating myself up, and I can't accept that my body doesn't fucking work the right way! And you and my old male doctor and all the people who have made me wish I could properly develop an ED my whole adolesence DIDN'T HELP!!!
