The fox story could be inspired from a ancient chinese philosopher, Wang Yangming (1472 - 1529). In one of his moral code/moral law he wrote called ''Township Covenants of Southern Jiangxi,'' he explained that ''The distinguishment between good and evil came from a single thought of oneselves.''

So today in most places if you have thoughts of commiting a crime but didn't actually perform the crime, you are not guilty. But in Wang's mind, he thinks that ''If you have evil thoughts, it's only matter of time till you commit evil deed. So you must be corrected before it's too late.'' Wang wanted to encourage people to accept their own flaws and change themselves. He believe as long you have good in your heart, you can overcome evil within you.

To apply this to the Fox story, the man helped her because he has good thought. But after one bad dream, his paranoia (evil thought) overcame him and made him kill the Fox girl.

I think this man only understand surface level of Wang Yangming's teaching. The man was like ''I saw an evil dream, so I will kill it to ease my evil (paranoia).'' But he fails to see that the evil is not from the Fox, the evil is coming from himself. He is the one with the problem, so he should have fix his inner self instead of accusing an innocent animal who hasn't done anything bad so far.

Too bad the game don't explain the historical philosophy within the game. It might be common knowledge for them chinks, but for western market it's hard to releate to the story because the game really expect you to have good understanding of ancient chinese culture and read/watch Journey to the West (pretty good book tbh, but still BS requirement for most gamers who are only here for the game itself).

I don't think it's a requirement, it's a pretty universal way of looking at things philosophy wise and Synth's failure is that he expected a character to be good due to doing a singular good act because god forbid a work will let the viewer draw his own conclusion without labeling everything. Also even if the priest had to kill the fox, skinning it is probably bad karma.

He still hasn't played the first one, right? God forbid you play a game before the anticipated sequel you plan to review comes out. It's not even a long game, he could knock it out in a single stream and it's exactly the kind of action game he claims to want but I guess he had to play Breakers instead.

Astro Bot so far is the only Sony first party game I like this generation. I’m so fucking tired of movie games. What was done to god of war is especially unforgivable.

the first game is kino, it's short but that's a good thing since the game is simple so it doesn't burn out halfway through. It's fast paced, action-packed and not a trace of leftist propaganda in sight. Absolutely perfect stream material. The only shitty thing is the final boss battle, if you can even call it that
