Harris had the bigger task. She needed to give people a reason to vote for her. As I have said before, people do vote -against- a candidate but they have justify it to themselves as voting -for- another. Harris has absolutely nothing, No policy, nobody voted for her, and the line "Why haven't you done it already" drives a massive nail in the final possibility, hope she would do -something-. She utterly failed that and managed to drop a few blunders that seriously hurt the very thing she needed to reinforce.

So, as a debate this was a weash. As a tactical objective? Trump maintained his goal, Harris undermined her own. Long-term, this debate was a loss for Harris more than a victory for Trump.
