Trump didn't win. This was a wash, but I think enthusiasm for Harris is plummeting, and like always, the real battle is going to be on the ground anyway with the poll watchers. At this point, debates are pointless and aren't going to have an effect on the election.

Trump just needs to not lose a debate and not appear weak. If he can do that in the second debate, I actually think it is a net win for him since it just means enthusiasm for Harris continues to plummet. From what I'm seeing, no side truly feels like their candidate won, which is a good. You've got people on both sides who are coping and will always say their candidate did the greatest ever, but aside from those people, everyone is fairly balanced.

Expecting TDS people to vote for Trump is as dumb as expecting Trump sympathizers to vote for Harris. Each side will say their side won as always. Speaking exclusively from the perspective of people who wanted to see some substance from Harris, they got none of it, just more of the same. Trump already laid out his plan months ago, Kamala hasn't, could have done it now but chose not to.

It looks good for the TDS crowd to see Kamala criticizing Trump coupled with the "gotcha" moments they'll clip later for upvotes. Those people were already voting Harris. She did not take her opportunity to show that she was more than just pure smoke and mirrors and they are going to be seething in the upcoming weeks about it when the enthusiasm and joy keeps wearing thin that Trump doesn't want to debate her.

When you let politics rule your life it is time to go outside. The only thing you or I can do is vote and say what's on our mind. What will be will be. I used to not be very religious, but as I've gotten older I've come to realize the saying that, "It's in God's hands" is absolutely true.
