I'm late, didn't get to watch the debate live because of crappy gym wifi, so I'm watching it now and am mercifully close to the end. This one is tedious as fuck. I was worried because I was seeing a lot of "Harris totally clobbered Trump". If it's a win for Harris, then it's because she exceeded her rock bottom expectations and didn't shit herself on stage. If it's a loss for Trump, then it's because even with the microphone cuts, he meanders and misses opportunities to go for the kill like you think he should. The moderators also let every Harris lie go unchecked while nitpicking every statement Trump makes and editorialize when it's totally unnecessary. CNN actually did a good job compared to these clowns. I would guess most normies tuned out in the first half hour (a better use of their time) and the legacy media is going to run with "Harris won!" with some select clips showing Trump looking crazy and Harris looking presidential.

Democrats will rig the election but actually get caught out doing it this year

The sad thing is what can you do about it if this actually happens? File a lawsuit that gets its first hearing after she's certified and actually goes to court well after she's inaugurated?

FOX News wants the second round of the debate to go to them. It seems Trump wants to re-up the terms in his own court.

I think Trump would do well in any debate that just focuses on policies.

After the Candy Crowley debacle and the ton of other times they've literally took over the debate on behalf of the Dems stretching way back for years there should have been a clause in the debate agreement that the moderators aren't allowed to jump into the debate themselves. I have no idea why the Trump team did not not learn from ample history and push for this.

I think everyone has to accept politics in America has become a purely vibes-based popularity contest. But it's an uphill battle when you come out looking like you ripped a line before this debate and are hyped up talking about Dogs being kidnapped to make Haitian food, and how Israel would cease to exist in 2 years with Kamala (God don't threaten me with a good time Don)

On closing I'm incredibly sad, tomorrow marks the 23th anniversary of 9/11. The defining start of an Era of perpetual decline for the US.

As someone who remembers very vividly watching those towers collapse on national television while in school, at some point you have to acknowledge that 9/11 is so far in the past that it's not much of a talking point anymore. There are more than 23 million voting-age US citizens that weren't even born when that happened. After pulling out of Afghanistan, the only thing left to remind the country of 9/11 is the Patriot Act.

I think my opinions on the debate can be pretty much summed up with this profile post from a few hours ago after checking stuff on here that wasn't the politics threads.

My current message count looks like a scarred for life crying clown.
This somehow literally sums up my mental state from a few hours ago after checking in on the presidential debates, only to be met with Kamala Harris yelling about how scary and unfit to lead trump is because he "randomly brings up fictional characters like hannibal lecter".
Immediately shut it back off after that and questioned what the fuck reality is anymore. Turn the game console off, Biden.

Just make the fucking merge real and have Hannibal Lecter be president I'm fucking ready for it. in an assane asylum.

Never felt too strongly about Biden or Trump aside from making memes about them and knowing they have their own BS attatched due to being career real estate guy and career politician. Kamala Harris hype is so fucking artificial it's nightmarish. Every five minutes I see an ad of either Obama, Bernie Sanders, Biden, or some other famous political guy from over 8 years ago now fear mongering about trump going THERE'S NO TIME LEFT IN THE ELECTION! WE NEED TO STOP HIM OR AMERICA IS DOOMED. VOTE/SEND MONEY FOR KAMALA HARRIS NOW!!!!" This shit is worse than the Hillary campaign somehow, at least that one was primarily just assuming she was already gonna win anyways due to being a career politician with a tinge of the beginnings of the shit we'd have shoveled down out throats the next 8 fucking years of "Trump is stupid bad man who will KILL YOU IF HE'S PRESIDENT! NO NOT BY WAR NO HE'S GONNA KILL YOU!!!!" The anti-biden ads this year were doing the same shit but with "maybe he has DEMENTIA?!" as the reason for the killing which I mainly heard on the fucking radio in stores that had radio enabled for like the last four months. On the upside Trump looked like a boomer and Kamala looked like a psychopath. Her every expression was terrifying. Anyone saying she won is daft.

Also Kamala is not popular. The media is turning on her because she will not feed them. She also just outright lied through the entire debate and I doubt the media she is ignoring is going to cover for her.
