He did say it in his closing statement, and my theory that because he won the coin toss and got to pick speaking last, he wanted that line for emphasis.

I do think, personally, he should have been hammering her on it throughout the debate.

I watched the debate. I thought Trump did better but I also think it wasn't as convincing as I'd have liked. Kemala said "understand this" a hundred times and literally just made shit up or answered different questions than the ones who were asked...but my wife afterward said "wow Kemala looked a lot better than I expected" because if you don't go out of your way to look into it, you'd probly believe the bullshit she was saying. Also she had notes and a yellow notepad the whole time AND also they failed HARD at "silencing mics" for people who weren't supposed to be speaking. They let her talk over Trump a bunch of times and left him muted during his time at least twice.

Also, and let's be fucking real, WHO let Trump go up there and get dragged into an abortion discussion again. He was doing well until suddenly he started saying they wanted to kill FULL TERM babies. Where did he even get that shit from? And why didn't he push back harder on her claiming that Project 2025 was his idea? I wish Trump had gone at her more about how she is already in office and has failed at every possible thing instead of letting her frame it as when she gets in office.

Politicians don't count the votes or man the polling stations. Regular people do. Reading comprehension and common sense is a lost art these days.

I think he should have pressed her more for not mentioning policy/constantly changing her views and pretending she didn't, but at the same time I feel like people who are voting for her don't care and people voting for him already know at this point. He really should have shot back at her when she said all he does is lie by mentioning how many different debunked lies she had stated during the entire debate. What really irritated me is that he didn't bring up the Texas border situation at all, especially after she said that its his fault the border sucks and she was trying to fix it. Their administration literally sued Texas to keep their part of the border open and even threatened them with soldiers. He definitely could have called her out for her constant word salad answers that never actually answered half the questions as well, "why did you change your policies on basically everything" "oh my friend was raped once". He didn't do bad at all but he missed so many good points.

Honestly the problem with any of these debates especially in recent years is that everyone is so entrenched in their party that its not going to change any minds except for more moderate people, and maybe the 100 democrats who don't deep throat the boot. I've seen so many people completely ignore evidence that is right in front of them, including fucking videos and articles and photos, that I refuse to believe that any amount of proving kamala wrong or calling out her lies will really do much. Just look at how most liberals are reacting to the constant issues with migrants basically "it's not happening but if it is its good".

Honestly I would think Biden's senility spread to Harris, except she was an idiot before so I dunno.

I was already kinda leaning this way but I feel pretty confident in locking in my prediction now. Trump had one shot at slam dunking this and the little bit I saw was unimpressive.

Kamala will win through even more obvious fortification and fuck all will happen because people are apathetic. Less than two months Trump was shot and it feels like the energy from that has fizzled out. When the steal happens there will be no Jan 6th 2: Electric Boogaloo because the last one failed so miserably. The last option left is to just start killing politicians and bureaucrats but Americans can't even be fucked to tar and feather a mayor who is openly stealing from them and retaliating against anyone speaking out against her. We've sent so many good and strong men to die or get maimed over seas that I don't think we have the stomach for this kind of work. The populace will cry out for someone to do "something" and never say what that is. O'Keefe/Crowder will continue to run hidden camera stings where yet another corrupt official brags to a piece of ass how corrupt they are in an attempt to get laid and the people will clap when they see it.

Trump didn't bother "fact checking" kamala because it doesn't work. The only people that take his word at face value are already voting for him. He did 3 notable things in thia debate that will hurt Kamala:

1) he took away her girlboss "i'm speaking" moment while pointing out her hypocrisy and lack of self control. She interrupted him several times and he never spoke over her once. She also shut her mouth both times he checked her.

2) he called out her tactic of promising the moon and never delivering, specifically by reminding young voters that they got rug pulled by student loan debt forgiveness promises. He challenged her to pass things before the election.

3) the "immigrants are eating pets" portion of the debate undercut the Taylor Swift endorsement. The dems unintentionally added life to the story by having Taylor revive the childless cat lady meme. Posing with the cat put more attention on the eating pets story. The videos of it happening are going to be boosted by public interest now.

One thing that stands out to me is that Trump’s statements are going be remembered. Nobody is focusing on Kamala’s statements. It’s all about the eating of pets and concepts of a plan. It keeps him in the news but it’s more often to mock him for the ridiculous things he says.

And yet you would seem to never apply the logical corollary to this statement. If your candidate can only appear professional with the co-operation of "team up" then how the hell is she going to deal with life as President?

I agree, but when I look back over the debate it's hard to think of when he could have done it. Funny enough I think Kamala benefits from there just being so much bs about her that it's hard to cover any of it or call her out on anything in a single sentence that would actually make sense to regular people. Also, the fact that the moderators were frivolously "fact-checking" him every time he made a claim and then just letting her get away with blatant lies fucked with the debate a lot. So many of her talking points were about all these plans she had and how many of the top people were on her side, with basically no reason as to why anybody should believe what she was saying would work. Like, she made a whole thing about creating an "opportunity" economy (whatever the fuck that is) then goes on to boast she had the endorsement of Dick Cheney, making it sound like her "opportunity" economy plan would be similar to the patriot act in terms of horrific shit with a positive name slapped on it.

I think the key takeaway for me was that she might have optically won this debate, but nothing she said is going to convince voters after a few days once they remember, "Oh yea, the economy is shit, and migrants are still an issue.". Also, she came out and said she wants another debate, which, if this time was on a Trump-favored network, I think would turn out a lot worse for her.
