Sony hate thread

It's as if Sony desperately wants their player base to move to PC for all future gaming. I don't know how else one could logically explain this.
The gaming world is going through a huge change, it just takes a very long time as these companies are huge and have vast reserves they can sit upon. The fall was never going to happen from a single bad game, or a string of them. but instead year after year of lower sales and lower expectations.

Seeing similar with Ubisoft, Blizzard and plenty of others. Shitty games for years is eating away at their finances, and its slowly starting to catch up with them. This is Sony trying to recover some costs, and its a smart move. Anyone who was going to buy a pro is still going to buy a pro, and the rest of the human race was never going to buy one anyway regardless of price.

Only Nintendo seems to be doing well of the consoles, as it knows to market itself correctly as just the "nintendo machine", you know what you are getting and plenty like that, it has its own little thing and it does it well.

I don't see how this helps Sony. The console market is predicated 100% on volume - every potential success scales directly in proportion to how large your install base is.

Even though it feels like yesterday's disaster deflated all the hot air propping it up, tomorrow's famitsu numbers are going to be illuminating for astrobot. There's a retailer known as COMG! that used to publish daily preorder numbers, but they stopped earlier this year as sony was getting thrashed harder than ever before, what a coincidence. Anyways, they still publish relative rankings once a week, and while FAR less informative, it's at least something.
Here's the last one they posted prior to astrobot's release:

Notice anything? These are total preorders, shit that doesn't come out for over a month is there, but the game that releases in less than a week isn't at all. Back when there were hard numbers, it took a pretty low threshold to get on there at the bottom of the list most often. Now, COMG! is a small retailer, with a specific customer base, and certain genres of games favor preorders over others, so it can't be used as some sort of crystal ball, even before it got gimped. However, it's always been useful as an accurate baseline FAR more often than not. Here's what really got my almonds activated though, their weekly sales ranking, which have all the same issues I outlined above, but come out before the official famitsu numbers.

Gone. Fucking visions of mana's week 2 is on there, and it bombed in week 1, with rpgs generally having ~75% week 2 drop. Could this be some weird statistical anomaly? Sure, but that just makes tomorrow's numbers all the more interesting.

Never heard of this. Anyone care to elaborate?

To give a little bit more context around the early 2000s MJ got a small 400 million loan to buy the rights of marvel and start his own cinematic universe, when the 2003 pedo allegations surfaced all the investors left, making sony extremely nervous about what would MJ do to pay off his debts seeing as how he owned half of the music divisions. He dies due to his retarded and suspicious doctor and 2 years later in 2011 the half MJ owns magically returns to sony

Tl;dr Sony was already butthurt about MJ not chasing the eternal shekel dragon and all his dumb decisions didn't help his case

tom warren of the verge just dropped an absolute bomb, turns out that the PS5 Pro will still be running games in 30fps
just lmao
All Nintendo has to do is announce that the Switch 2 will play all of their own games at a minimum 1080p 60 FPS for less than $400 with the capability to push 4K (even if most games won’t go up that high), work with Nvidia for decent-looking optional AI upscaling, and they’ve already won. And Sony/Microsoft really can’t afford to fall far behind again before they throw their hands up and put everything on PC.

By the way, I have a question for this thread. A lot of people here (myself included) have said that resolution starts hitting diminishing returns beyond 1080p, and 4K really isn’t worth it at the detriment of anything else. But what about 120 FPS? I can immediately notice a difference between 30 and 60, but anything beyond 60 is more of a perk than a requirement. Hitting a steady 1080p 60FPS with no dynamic resolution or dips should be a priority before trying to experiment with higher specs.

tbh I can notice a massive jump from 1080p to 1440p, and going from 60hz to 144hz is also a huge immediately noticeable improvement

When did he become such a gigantic faggot? And what sort of quantum vision or drugs is he doing to notice such a "huge improvement" between standard and Pro?
He's always been a console faggot, he started out on youtube as a Xbox channel, became popular as a PC gamer, now he is back to sucking console cock. Even when he was a PC gamer he was extremely arrogant:

Finally catching up. We JUST had Concord, the biggest commercial failure in gaming, pass by, and then Sony drops this absolute turd nuke of a fucking SCAM.

This almost makes me feel apologetic to the Wii U's plight. Almost.
The Wii U tried to do something new and unique. It failed, but it at least tried. It also gave us the greatest social media platform.
