This has been Trump's strategy since 2015. He's the guy that made illegal immigration THE topic to care about in the United States almost 10 years ago. Back when my Dad and I were not Trump supporters, we both begrudgingly admitted that we appreciated that he was in the race because he's the one who made illegal immigration part of the national discussion, and that he was forcing Republicans to finally address and acknowledge the problem.

Simultaneously, he's gotten some great one liners in the face of hostile moderators. Debate #2 against Clinton was a massive net positive for him. I absolutely think he stands to benefit from a second debate if he plays his cards right.

But I can see the angle, refusing to fight on your opponent's terms as a sort of power move. Kamala certainly didn't make the case for herself and all the talking points they threw out are well past their expiration date, so unless they manage to make this election a referendum on Trump again(I don't think that's likely, people have largely made their minds up about him) maybe he thinks Harris needs/benefits from debate #2 far more than he does.

Then again, maybe he's doing le based MAGApede 4D chess and just trying to lock Harris in for debate #2 in a way that she can't back out of. Who knows at this point.

The "pets being eaten" line is so pervasive now that my wife, who goes out of her way to avoid politics, heard about the story.

Springfield is such a common place name in the US and my wife is so aloof to geography that she thought the entire debate referred to a place in our state that no one cares about. She asked me why people were talking about it. We are not from Ohio.

The cards for a potential next debate are in his favor now.

The Harris Campaign demanding another debate immediately following last night's debate reeks of desperation to me. They need the second debate more than Trump does, and he knows it.

He's trying to get concessions from her to agree to a second debate that will favor him. Unmuted microphones and a live audience are what he wants.

Over here in Germany, leftoids can't even understand or comprehend that people can be that depraved and worthless wastes of perfectly fine oxygen. That says more about them than they'd like, in particular since they're claiming that Trump's making that up.

They honestly strike me as the kinds of people who looked at their kid and thought about how much carbon he'd put into the atmosphere over his life.

To be fair to Dave, though, him being a horndog is nothing new. Still, there's a bit of schadenfreude seeing someone with a very liberal and well-crafted media image getting egg on his face.

Maybe a small white pill but I've been looking at my Facebook and Instagram because I know a large portion of people on there are democrats. Weirdly enough I don't see a lot of enthusiasm for Kamala or anything about the debate compared to 2020. I'm not saying the same people won't vote for her but these same people really wanted to get rid of Trump in 2020 and followed the debate between Joe and Trump closely. Why they aren't enthusiastic about Kamala especially with the idea of first black female president is kinda crazy.
