Sony hate thread

Yesterday was my first time hearing about fidelity mode on the PS5
I just assumed it ran everything well enough to look fine and maintain 60fps like my xbone could when i was in highschool.
I really cant believe consistent 1080p 60fps is touted as an achievement in 2024 when video cards have been competing for 4k, 8k, and 16k framerates since like 2016.

Also the speech during the unveiling was nuts.

Is there really nothing more exciting to talk about than the audio drivers? Most people are going to be playing their PS5 on a shitty $300 LCD tv anyway. At best they'll have a BestBuy sound bar that still sounds crusty as shit and has way too much bass. Did the PS5 really have that bad audio that it needed to be addressed in a pro version?

"Our haptic controllers let you FEEL whats going on." like yeah so did my dualshock 2. How about fixing the stick drift next?

You can also get a 12TB former server HDD fully loaded with emulation of every system from 1970 to 2024 including Switch and PS4, including every damn game image ever released for under $300 from China. KinHank and a couple other places are doing them.
Thought about doing that. The game list is insane but not sure how i can get the UI to run on my steam deck or my desktop that runs PopOS.

The games themselves, would run with no problem though.

A lot of comparisons were made between the PS3 and PS5 Pro unveilings. The PS5 Pro was significantly worse in my opinion. With the PS3 you at least got access to a new media format in Blu-Ray, free online play, and BC out of the box with the PS1 and PS2. You also got a disc drive. The amount of salt I have read from Soyny fans in the last 24 hours has been hilarious.

I had heard this rumor that the showcase was so short because Concord was meant to be shown as the main event and they removed it. What do you think about that?
I pointed out when the reveal was new that the rainbow effect they used is really similar to the one in some Concord promo material. I am 100% sure they were planning on tying Concord to the PS5 Pro. If it were the tremendous success they were expecting, they'd advertise it as PS5 Pro enhanced, and brag about, I dunno, faster frame rates and higher resolution to help you get the edge and experience the game better than ever. So then everyone playing it on PS5 who wants to play it professionally would be pressured to buy a PS5 Pro.

Thankfully, that didn't happen, so now we've got this aimless, yet extraordinarily overpriced machine that appeals to no one.

I guess my question is what were people expecting? A console refresh is inherently boring because it was never going to be anything but 'the same, but slightly better,' and it's not the time you're going to announce anything that matters like a new game because you run the risk of confusing the niggercattle by making them think the new game is exclusive to the new console.

Can't you find parts that DON'T have that
Of course you can. It's often less expensive, too (a PC case without a "glass side panel" is always cheaper, and I put all my PC's parts inside a case because I don't want to stare at them). Building a PC yourself is easy, and there's really not much reason not to anymore (especially since you have full control of what parts go in, including banning the retarded RGB garbage).

The RGB stuff is just for ricers.

I'm browsing Twitter and all I see from Sony fans now is them arguing with PC gamers about how you can't create a rig on par with the Pro for $700. Truly the most insufferable fanbase.

They are also trying to convince people that the massive dislike ratio on the reveal video exists because of "poor people"... Not just insufferable, but classist pieces of shit.

Do those operate reliably and for a decent amount of time? Or is it a huge gamble?

I've been watching these for a while because I've been seriously tempted to pick one up and I haven't seen any significant bitching. I don't think the 12tb drives were used long enough before replacement by SSDs to burn up a lot of hours.

Also someone was asking about getting the images to run: the HDD includes a frontend that lets you sort and launch the various games by various emulators. You can set the emulators of your choice in this frontend, or just ignore it entirely, set up whatever emulators you like on your PC or Steamdeck and point the ROMS folders to the appropriate folders on this HDD.

I'll never understand the mindset behind arguing "you just hate it because you can't afford it!" Nah, I can afford a Tesla just fine, but there's a fuckton of reasons I don't want to and never will. Come to think of it, it's the exact same with the PS5 Pro.

But why does anyone think insulting people and calling them broke/cheap is going to improve sales?

I know these are consoomers and not corporate drones (at least, not on Sony's regular payroll), but what's the cause of this modern "insult them until they love us" mentality?

Well, a huge part of the Snoy fanbase are niggers/troons, and that mentality is part of their M.O.

Perhaps you don't just spent your money willy-nilly for the latest thing. There's more to money than just SPENDING it; they clearly don't know the value of a dollar.
