Ever since I was a child I always found Hindus to be repulsive. Thankfully I didn't encounter one out in the wild till I was about 12, it was one of my fathers business partners. The apologists in the replies are equally ridiculous, stating that it is misinterpreted or out of context, that the point is that lust can't be controlled it can only be punished.

They have no comprehension that our impulses, thoughts, ideas, goals, values, emotions, and actions are all things under the dominion and responsibility of ourself, not another, be it another god or human. That is the divine that separates us as human from animal. There is no duty to self-composure. It's reactionary entitlements.

Fill me in on Sri Lanka; what's the consensus on that place? Idk much about it, but as far as South Asia goes, it seems better than its neighbors (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh). I don't hear nearly as many rape stories from there and it seems cleaner too.
