Null are you going to watch the new Matt Walsh movie "Am I Racist"?

Based on clips and trailers it sort of appears like he is doing a Sasha Baron Cohen movie ala Ali G or Borat, but dunking on libs that hate white people and exposing the racial grievance industry and white self hatred.

Might make for a fun Gumroad if you can find a torrent of it.

I think this is the first incident of 2024 where a genuine attempt at mocking Trump turned into a viral pro-Trump meme. It's making the rounds on X tonight and will probably see more exposure tomorrow, especially people mocking him for shutting it down.

If I knew how to make the pirate's skin yellow I would've done that.

Is Styx actually popular in any meaningful way? I don't think I've ever seen him in the wild. I've never gotten one of his videos suggested to me. I've never heard anyone aside from Null even mention him. From MATI he sounds like a throwback-2010 era reddit libertarian who also posts on /r/athiesm; I don't even know who that appeals to. As far as I know he could all be a figment of Josh's imagination.

he gets >6000 viewers during his stream and rakes in cash.

If you cover the Biden Trump Hat story, you might want to use this angle, which has subtitles. The guy called the sitting president an old fart to his face after he put it on. What an embarrassment.

Honestly one of the most human interactions I've seen from Biden, but it also underlined how old he is, talking to another old dude in that way only old dudes can with each other. Was just an old dude being goofy. I like that.

Maybe c.2015 he was pushed enough on the YT algo that I knew who he was, even though I never clicked because just look at him.

Agreed. (Right click, do not recommend channel) He failed the physiognomy test and his internet handle is retarded. Literally 2005 xbox live gamertag level. That was enough for me to ignore him.

As opposed to Newl whose handle is short and conceptual and who also knocked that shit off of posting photos of himself. Sadly Joah is too autistic and not autistic enough to currently pull 6k live viewers, but I still believe.

Josh’s opinion on physical game media were pretty frustrating especially considering his usual opinions on ownership of media. I know he’s said before that he wants to start buying vinyl. There’s an obvious utility in owning physical games because of how ownership is treated on digital platforms. Obviously, nowadays physical discs are basically just keys that don’t have the full game on it, however, it still provides more ownership than buying a game on Steam or PSN. Companies have been removing entire games off digital platforms so being able to physically own the game is very important so that they can’t take it away from you. There’s also the utility of being able to share your games with people and being able to resell them. Also, what he said about Gameboy games is untrue. The still work perfectly fine it’s just that some games might need their save battery replaced. Even then, it’s something that is only need sporadically.

If you ever click on a Moist Critical(sp?) YouTube recommendation, then you'll sometimes get Styx videos as the "Great Value" substitute

The real question is if the CD even has any value. A music CD can always be ripped and played, a DVD/Bluray can, too.

But it's quite possible for a game CD to be absolutely useless out of the box - if you can't install it offline, you might as well buy it on Steam.

My favorite was installing Star Wars: The Old Republic when it first came out. Bought the game disks, installed for like 45 minutes, then had to download and patch nearly as much data as it installed. Fuck me, why would I expect to play the game the same day I install it?

At least now they (sometimes) let you "preinstall" if you purchase the game in advance, so the moment it unlocks you just have a small patch and you're ready to play.

I long for the days of software syncing its version to match others on the LAN so you could multiplay. The Nintendo Switch still has that option, I've seen. I suspect I might be buying more games on Switch these days, at least the cartridges work without the Internet.

@Null Coffee Sperging re: your request on Tuesday's stream.

Buy an Aeropress. Go to a local coffee store, tell them you'd like a bean that's low acidity and high in flavor, but not bitter. They will likely recommend you a light roast. If in doubt, buy small bags of a few different types and see if there's one you like.

You can get the coffee store to grind them for you: be sure to tell them what brewing method you use (e.g. Aeropress, french press, pour-over, etc.). If you want, you can also just grind them yourself. Freshly ground improves the flavor over pre-ground, but it's not a big deal if you're just starting off and experimenting.

An acquaintance of mine really disliked acidity in his coffee, and I tried his beans (can't remember the name) and the coffee was incredibly smooth, no bitterness, almost floral taste. He brewed it on Aeropress, and I've used that myself since. Protip, use 2 filters, and roughly 1 topped table spoon of grounds per cup of coffee.

Hope it helped.
