They are not really all that different from Yandev when it comes to their relationship with anime, shows get added because they are novelty, and then quickly forgotten after they stop being the new thing, a newer show releases, and then once again the cycle starts anew. The biggest effect i've found from video games myself is when I play Crash Burnout 3. Played it yesterday. Driving home, when a car was hovering on my side about 3/4ths past me, I get the impulse to PIT maneuver them into the wall. I don't do it because that would be crazy, but it feels natural to want to do it at that moment. It's surreal. The game was basically reprogramming my brain's logic/desire centers to fit the game. This effect only lasts like two days but it happens often after playing games.

It was clearly a political move to push video game addiction to be on par with gambling over porn/sex addiction, but you totally can get addicted to games. I've had withdrawals over Pokémon Puzzle League back in my senior year of high school/first year of college because I was playing it long term to get/keep personal high scores and it was becoming second nature just matching colorful blocks together and in fast maneuvers. It sounds stupid, but the recurring jitters and rushing thoughts for days got me to realize "Oh shit" before it could escalate.
